This hotfix is provided on Vicon’s website with the Valerus version 20R2 software. If you are running another version of Valerus, it is not necessary to run this hotfix. The Issues and Fixes The issue involves an update that was made to Internet Explorer 11 that conflicts with the Client portion of Valerus 20R2. This combines with running version 20R2, preventing the ability to log into Valerus from the upgraded PC; after entering the login details, the system does not proceed but will stay stuck in the log in process screen. The hotfix, which is run on the Application Server (also the web server for Valerus), updates the Valerus Client files and corrects the conflict. As Valerus is a browser-based system, there is no need to install it on every Client PC; simply Refresh the browser after the update to the Application Server. Versions Requiring the Hotfix: If you are running older Valerus versions 20R1 or 18R2U1, this issue is not going to impact your system, as the conflict is with Valerus version 20R2. If your system is running Valerus version 20R2 and your system does not go through the Windows update, this issue is not going to impact it, as the conflict is only after the update. If your system is going through a Windows update to Windows 10 version 2004 and you are running Valerus version 20R2, you should install this hotfix on your Application Server. In the next Valerus release (version 20.3), we will include the hotfix with the main VMS installation, so the conflict will not exist.
