This region is connected t o the west with Cimahi and Padalarang where you can find more industries, and al so the Kota Baru Parahyangan (residential area). West Bandung Regency (Kabupaten Bandung Barat) is a regency of West Java. It was established in 2007, formerly it was part of Bandung Regency. The capital of th is new regency is Ngamprah, an industrial district on the west side of Bandung. It is part of the Bandung Metropolitan Area. According to the 2010 Census, the population of the Regency was 1,506,448; the l atest official estimate (for 2014) is 1,624,179. History The idea of dividing Bandung Regency into two separate regencies originated in 1 999, based on a proposal from the current regent (H.U. Hatta Djati Permana) for the parliament to consider and approve the idea of splitting off the western par t of the existing Bandung Regency. Before the split-off was successfully complet ed, the Bandung suburb of Cimahi (an area consisting of three districts, which u sed to be part of Bandung Regency) had been promoted to became an autonomous cit y. After Cimahi became an autonomous administration, the request to split off th e western portion of Bandung Regency as a separate regency grew. Finally in 2007, the government of Indonesia approved the proposal to separate t he western part of Bandung Regency to became a separate regency, the Western Ban dung Regency. On its birth, this newest regency in West Java were headed by an a ppointed acting regent H. Tjatja Kuswara (an officer from West Java provincial g overnment) until April 2008, when the first direct election of West Bandung Rege ncy Regent was held, with H. Abubakar and H. Agus Yasmin as the contestants; H. Abubakar with his running mate Ernawan Natasaputra won the election and became t he Regent and Vice-Regent of West Bandung Regency. Curug Cimahi, beautiful 85 metres waterfall located near the district of Parongp ong, near Cihideung Village and Vila Istana Bunga, 687 stairs to the waterfall. A location for the 10th leg of eco-torism destinaton of US TV series, The Amazin g Race.[2] Ciwangun Indah Camp, a 22 hectares outbound area mainly for children is located in Colonel Masturi street, Ciwangun, Cihanjuang Rahayu, Parongpong. The location consists of a waterfall, a man-made pond, pines forest, tea plantation and stra wberry field.[3] Curug Kebul, the tallest waterfall among 7 waterfalls in Curug Malela area. Curug Malela, a 70-meter wide and 50-meter tall waterfall at Manglid village, Ci cadas sub-district, Rongga district, West Bandung Regency near Cianjur Regency c onsists of 5 waterfalls side by side and looked like a silky whitish curtain fro m a far,[4] 87 kilometres from Bandung, 4 hours uses a motorcycle. The waterfall is known also as 'Mini Niagara' can be seen since 1 kilometre away from a musho lla and the neareast waterfall can be reached from a parking area. Karanghawu Vertical Cave, at Cidadap village, Padalarang district, near Ciburuy lake and 125 cliff, a 90 metres vertical cave with a natural bridge over it. Pawon Cave, at Cipatat, a pre-historic cave was used when Old Bandung Lake still exist. Situ Lembang, a remote small man-made lake, located between 2 mountains, mount T angkubanparahu and mount Burangrang, it has a tremendous natural scenery and unp olluted remote fresh air. The location is a training camp for the Army, so not e very time and everyone may access it. Stone Garden, a hill near Padalarang which needs a lot of energy to climb, is fu ll of big stones or boulders, sometimes cloud through it and below the top of th e hill, so the situation is like at Zhangjiajie Mountain in China.[5] Waduk Saguling, a man-made lake formed by the Saguling Dam located in the centre of West Bandung Regency, also location of fishing activities. Located in the up per reaches of Citarum River. Waduk Cirata, a man-made lake and dam of Citarum River, located in Cipeundeuy di strict. Located between Waduk Saguling and Waduk Jatiluhur. Situ Ciburuy, a small lake, located on the side of the state road connecting Cia njur and Bandung. Bandung Regency Administration will build information center at their leading si tes, Maribaya, Situ Ciburuy and Pawon Cave.

    The Revival of Tradition in Indonesian Politics The Indonesian term adat means ‘custom’ or ‘tradition’, and carries connotations of sedate order and harmony. Yet in recent years it has suddenly become associated with activism, protest and violence. Since the resignation of President Suharto in 1998, diverse indigenous communities and ethnic groups across Indonesia have publicly, vocally, and sometimes violently, demanded the right to implement elements of adat in their home territories. This book investigates the revival of adat in Indonesian politics, identifying its origins, the historical factors that have conditioned it and the reasons for its recent blossoming. The book considers whether the adat revival is a constructive contribution to Indonesia’s new political pluralism or a divisive, dangerous and reactionary force, and examines the implications for the development of democracy, human rights, civility and political stability. It is argued that the current interest in adat is not simply a national offshoot of international discourses on indigenous rights, but also reflects a specifically Indonesian ideological tradition in which land, community and custom provide the normative reference points for political struggles. Whilst campaigns in the name of adat may succeed in redressing injustices with regard to land tenure and helping to preserve local order in troubled times, attempts to create enduring forms of political order based on adat are fraught with dangers. These dangers include the exacerbation of ethnic conflict, the legitimation of social inequality, the denial of individual rights and the diversion of attention away from issues of citizenship, democracy and the rule of law at national level. Overall, this book is a full appraisal of the growing significance of adat in Indonesian politics, and is an important resource for anyone seeking to understand the contemporary Indonesian political landscape.

Tan Hwie Tjeng adalah salah satu leluhur yang tercatat menetap di Batang, pesisir utara Jawa Tengah untuk beberapa generasi lalu berpindah ke Cirebon dan Jamblang. Di sana mereka berkembang menjadi pedagang dan pemimpin masyarakat Tionghoa Cirebon. Tan Sim Tjong dan Tan Sim Sioe pindah ke Bandung dengan dibangunnya ”Groote Postweg” dan sukses sebagai pengusaha. Keturunan mereka berpindah ke arah timur d a n bermukim di Kota Garut, Tasikmalaya, dan Ciamis juga Cimahi, Bandung, Cirebon, Tegal, Pekalongan, dan Jakarta. Sebuah novel yang ditulis pada tahun 1917 menggambarkan situasi masyarakat Tionghoa Bandung saat itu. Depresi ekonomi global tahun 1929 disusul Perang Dunia Kedua dan Perang Kemerdekaan menghancurkan sebagian besar kekayaannya sedangkan kerusuhan masa republik mendorong terjadinya diaspora di antara keturunan mereka. Letak dan Luas Secara geografis berdasarkan peta rupa bumi lembar Bandung, Cimahi, Cililin, dan Padalarang, Kecamatan Ngamprah terletak pada koordinat 6o47’33,18” – 6o52’51,27” LS dan 107o28’30,93” – 107o33’4,21” BT. Kecamatan yang berada pada ketinggian 800 – 1000 meter diatas permukaan laut ini merupakan ibukota Kabupaten Bandung Barat yang memiliki batas wilayah administratif sebagai berikut : 1. Sebelah Utara : Kecamatan Cisarua 2. Sebelah Timur : Kota Cimahi 3. Sebelah Barat : Kecamatan Padalarang 4. Desa-desa tersebut yaitu Desa Cimareme, Desa Gadobangkong, Desa Tanimulya, Desa Pakuhaji, Desa Cilame, Desa Margajaya, Desa Mekarsari, Desa Ngamprah, Desa Sukatani, Desa Cimanggu, dan Desa Bojongkoneng. Data luas desa secara detail dapat dilihat pada tabel 3.1. Sebelas wilayah administrasi desa didukung oleh satuan lingkungan setempat sebanyak 159 Rukun Warga (RW) dan 736 Rukun Tetangga (RT). Jumlah satuan lingkungan setempat baik RW maupun RT yang terbanyak berada di Desa Tanimulya dengan jumlah 25 RW dan 158 RT meskipun memiliki wilayah yang relatif kecil dengan luas 109 ha. Sedangkan desa yang memiliki satuan lingkungan setempat paling sedikit adalah Desa Sukatani dengan jumlah 8 RW dan 34 RT. Haley School of Law A sweeping proviso that protects basic or fundamental interests of a legal system is known in various names – ordre public, public policy, public order, government’s interest or Vorbehaltklausel. This study focuses on the concept of Indonesian public order in private international law. It argues that Indonesia has extraordinary layers of pluralism with respect to its people, statehood and law. Indonesian history is filled with the pursuit of nationhood while protecting diversity. The legal system has been the unifying instrument for the nation. However the selected cases on public order show that the legal system still lacks in coherence. Indonesian courts have treated public order argument inconsistently. A prima facie observation may find Indonesian public order unintelligible, and the courts have gained notoriety for it. This study proposes a different perspective. It sees public order in light of Indonesia’s legal pluralism and the stages of legal development.

    Closed Loop Control of Soft Switched Forward Converter Using Intelligent Controller 77 IJCTA, 9(35), 2016, pp. 77-92 © International Science Press A Review of the 1985 Andreassen Model to Predict the Fatality Rate of Traffi c Accident Victims in Indonesia Supratman Agus* Abstract : In Indonesia, the 1985 Andreassen equation has been used in road safety studies to predict the number of actual fatality in traffi c accidents, by examining the correlation between the number of vehicle and the number of population variables. The relationship between the formula/equation of the two variables needs to be analyzed in the light of the characteristic of Indonesia which is a vast area with huge amount of vehicles and great number of population. With the sample area of West Java Province, and using the test criteria of Mean Absolute Percent Errors, Mean Absolute Errors, and Root Mean Square Errors, the study fi nds that (1) the Andreassen equation formula is not suitable for predicting the number of actual fatality in Indonesia because the variable of population (P) does not have signifi cant effect on the number of fatality; and (2) by formulating the data input from every area of the study, an updated equation is developed; i.e. F = e –1,335 V0,509. This single-variable equation can predict the number of actual fatality of 176.8% greater than the data reported by the Indonesian National Police. It is recommended that the researchers of road safety in Indonesia implement the primary data of fatality as stated in Indonesian Law No 22/2009 on Traffi c and Road Transportation, as well as the recommendation of International Road Traffi c and Accident Database of 1998 and 2004.
