2019 Young Adult projects serve local communities

by MEREDITH MARESH (449) and Lanie Maresh (449) CICERO, Ill. — SNPJ young adult members had an eventful conference the weekend of June 14-16. We opened the weekend with pizza and ice-breaker activities Friday evening, during which we learned participants came from near and far – from Pennsylvania to Chicago, even from New Mexico! It was great to see some new faces and some regular attendees returning this year. In total, we had 38 delegates and surrogate delegates participating. On Saturday, the young adults had the special opportunity to meet Consul General of the Republic of Slovenia Andrej Gregor Rode. He shared what services the consulate office in Cleveland provides, as well as some insight into his role as a diplomat. The young adults engaged in great conversation and asked some insightful questions of our special guest. • Mack A. Pintar The young adults also got to meet SNPJ National Sales Director David Ely. Born Feb. 16, 2019 David spoke about the cost of waiting to save for retirement. He demonstrated Sygan, Pa., Lodge 6 just how much more money can be saved by starting in our twenties rather than Sygan, Pa., Lodge 6 welcomes new member waiting until 30 or 40 years of age.
