SORIA INVESTIGACIONES Y ENSAYOS N° 64 LA ORGANIZACIÓN DEL EJÉRCITO DE LOS ANDES* DIEGO ALEJANDRO SORIA [email protected] Resumen San Martín consiguió ser nombrado gobernador intendente de la provincia de Cuyo para organizar allí el instrumento para la ejecución de su Plan Estratégico Continental. Utilizó todos los recursos humanos y materiales de la provincia para la formación del ejército, sin por ello descuidar el gobierno. El Ejército de los Andes fue el primero organizado en nuestro país con un criterio moderno para el cumplimiento de una misión específica. Con él, su creador pudo preparar la campaña para dar la libertad a Chile y Perú. Las Provincias Unidas del Río de la Plata pudieron entonces disponer de un elemento imprescindible para la existencia de una nación. Así se puso término a la improvisación bélica reinante hasta entonces. San Martín no fue un innovador en la organización de su ejército, salvo en el campo de la Logística, la que le permitió estar al nivel de los pertenecientes a los países más avanzados de su época. La acción del general San Martín en la gestación del ejército merece ser conocida para valorar a quien fue el militar más grande de nuestra historia. This period of epistemic rupture in Spain and her colonies, commonly referred to as the Enlightenment, not only presented new ways of knowing, but inspired impassioned debates among leading intellectuals about the epistemology and philosophy that continued throughout the century.
