September 2017 September Enrichment Week The Senior School staff worked hard to organise a wonderful and diverse programme for the girls in Grades 8 – 11 for Enrichment Week. The result was a truly enriching experience. Our Grade 11s spent a morning exploring their personality types according to the Enneagram methodology. The girls were engaged and really enjoyed getting to know themselves and others in their group. They ended the day with a Pilates session, with staff joining in the fun. Despite the programme’s serious goals, there were some light and noisy moments on campus during the week when the Grade 9s learned to “drum” as a team on the floor with empty plastic bottles. One of the goals of enrichment is to balance attaining vital academic abilities and skills with good character and standards of responsibility. The programme for each grade is designed to challenge the thinking of students in such a way that, as they engage, probe, reflect and think creatively in a range of spaces Girls were treated to a talk by Ambre Nicolson, on and off campus, they develop a deeper author of ‘A – Z of Amazing South African Women’, poetry by local poet Shimoney Rhode, and many other understanding of the world around them as a inspiring poetry sessions.
