Transitional provision Schedule __________ 2018, No. A BILL INTITULED AN ACT to set out electoral constituencies and villages under each constituency. BE IT ENACTED by the Legislative Assembly of Samoa in Parliament assembled as follows: 2 1. Short title and commencement: (1) This Act may be cited as the Electoral Constituencies Act 2018. (2) Except for section 4, which commences on the date of assent of this Act, this Act commences on the day the Head of State dissolves the Legislative Assembly under Article 63(4) of the Constitution of the Independent State of Samoa (“Constitution”). 2. Prescribing Electoral Constituencies: (1) For the purpose of Article 44(1) of the Constitution, the 51 Electoral constituencies for the election of members of the Legislative Assembly are named in the Schedule. (2) Each Electoral Constituency comprises of a list of villages and sub villages. 3. Repeal: The Constituencies Act 1963 is repealed. 4. Transitional provision: For the purpose of the compilation of rolls for the electoral constituencies under the Electoral Act 2018 as prescribed in this Act, the 51 electoral constituencies are lawfully recognized only for that purpose at the commencement of this Act. 3 SCHEDULE (section 2) Constituency 1 - Vaimauga 1 Fagalii; Laulii; Letogo; Vailele; Vailele-uta.
