1. The Competition except where otherwise stated is OPEN 2. Every Exhibit must be the work of the Exhibitor 3. Entries must be clearly marked in writing on the detachable portion of the Schedule and forwarded with entry money to the Secretary no later than Friday, 17th July 2015 4. All Exhibitors in the old Lockerbie Show Area must place “L” on their Entry Form. The following parishes are eligible for the Lockerbie Cup Annan Applegarth & Sibbaldbie Dalton Dryfesdale Gretna Half-Morton Hoddam Hutton and Corrie Johnstone Kirkmichael Kirkpatrick-Fleming Kirkpatrick-Juxta Lockerbie Middlebie Ruthwell St Mungo Tinwald Tundergarth Wamphray

5. Competitors will be furnished with labels which must be attached to the exhibit. 6. Baking Entries to be shown on cardboard plates with entry labels firmly attached. Labels to be attached to the bottom of jars. When entries are received in polythene bags stewards will endeavour to replace after judging. 7. All articles for competition will be accepted in the Pavilion on the Showfield from 4.00pm to 9.00pm on Thursday, 30th July and from 8.00am to 10.00am on Friday, 31st July. The section for Decorative Classes only will remain open until midnight on the Thursday evening. 8. Any entry which has previously won a prize at Dumfries & Lockerbie Agricultural Society’s Show is not eligible except in Classes 901 to 914 9. Judging will take place at 10.30am on Friday, 31st July. This does not apply to the Walking Stick Section – see Schedule 10. Competitors will not be allowed in the Pavilion while judging is in progress. 11. The judges, whose decision is final, shall have the power to withhold any prize if they deem the production unworthy or award a second prize only. 12. In the event of there being exhibitors with an equal number of points for a trophy the exhibitor with the most first prizes shall be the winner. 13. Prize Money will be paid out at the Pavilion on the Showfield between 2.00pm and 4.30pm on Saturday, 1st August 2015. Any monies not collected shall be put into The Society funds. 14. Exhibits must be removed between the hours of 4.30 and 5.30pm on Saturday, 1st August 2015 15. Exhibits shall be at risk of Exhibitors who shall be solely responsible for the delivery and removal of their own Exhibits and the Society will not be responsible for any loss or damage. 16. All disputes will be settled by the Committee, whose decision will be final. Any protest must be made in writing and handed to the Secretary before 7.30pm on Friday, 31st July 2015 17. All horticultural exhibits must be grown by the exhibitor or have been in their possession for six weeks prior to the Show. 18. Vases will be provided by the Society. 19. Floral decoration must be the work of the exhibitor, but the flowers used need not be grown by the exhibitor. 20. Classes 701 – 726 - Exhibitors limited to Two Entries per class Classes 727 - 788 – Exhibitors limited to One Entry per class Classes 789 – 816 – Exhibitors limited to Two Entries per class Classes 817– 823 – Exhibitors limited to One Entry per class Classes 824 – 848 – Exhibitors limited to Two Entries per class Classes 901 – 914 – No limit on number of entries.

SILVER CUPS

The Wyllie Cup presented by the late Mr & Mrs William Wyllie, Barton House, Torthorwald Road will be presented to the exhibitor winning the greatest number of points in Classes 701 - 761

The Mrs Graham Cup presented by Mrs Graham, Mossknowe, Kirkpatrick Fleming will be presented to the exhibitor from the old Lockerbie Show area winning the greatest number of points..

The Ethel, Lady Buchanan-Jardine Cup presented by Ethel, Lady Buchanan- Jardine will be presented to the Rural Institute in Dumfries and Galloway winning the greatest number of points. All entrants to declare which W.R.I. they belong to.

Nancy Sloan Trophy will be awarded to the exhibitor winning the most points in the Decorative Section. (Classes 817 – 823)

The Portrack House Trophy presented by Lady Keswick of Portrack will be presented to the exhibitor winning the greatest number of points in the Handicrafts Section.

The Wardlaw Trophy presented by Miss Maybeth Jamieson will be presented to the exhibitor winning the greatest number of points in the Photography Section.

A Castlehill Trophy presented by Mrs H I Renwick, Castlehill, Moniaive will be presented to the exhibitor winning the greatest number of points in the Preserves Section.

The Mary Fisher Cup presented by the late James Fisher, Esq will be presented to the exhibitor winning the greatest number of points in the Baking Section.

The Miss Kingan Cup presented by the late Miss Muriel Kingan, Ashcroft, New Abbey will be presented to the W.R.I. winning the Community Work Class.

A Trophy presented by Dr & Mrs R B Wilson, Mile Ash will be presented to the exhibitor winning the greatest number of points in the Junior Section, 6 years and under group. A Trophy presented by the late Mr & Mrs D W Purdie, Inglestonford, New Abbey will be presented to the exhibitor winning the greatest number of points in the Junior Section, 7 to 10 year group

A Shield presented by The Society will be presented to the exhibitor winning the greatest number of points in the Junior Section, 11-16 year group.

Alansound Shield presented by Mr & Mrs A Marshall will be presented to the Best Exhibit in the Junior Section

The Sir John Keswick Trophy will be awarded to the Best Exhibit in the Junior Floral Art. (Class 823)

The J Keenlyside Cup will be awarded for the Best Pot Plant

A Society Silver Challenge Cup (1) will be awarded for the Best Exhibit in the Cut Flower Section for the Best Single Vase or Board

A Society Silver Challenge Cup (2) will be awarded for the Best Exhibit in the Decorative Section

A Society Silver Challenge Cup (3) will be awarded to the Best Exhibit in the Vegetable Section

Note: Each of the foregoing Cups and Trophies to be held by the winner for one year and returned to The Society before 1st July 2016. The points in each class will be 1st Prize – 3; 2nd – 2; 3rd – 1.

Walking Stick Section The Gilchristland Cup presented by Lady Duncan, Castlehill, Kirkmahoe will be presented to the exhibitor winning the greatest number of points in the Stick Section. The Cup to be held by the winner for one year and returned to the Society before 1st July 2016. The points will be: 1st Prize – 3; 2nd – 2; 3rd – 1.

“The Jack Hetherington and Tommy Blaylock Memorial Cup” will be presented to the exhibitor with the best exhibit in the Stick Section. . The Cup to be held by the winner for one year and returned to the Society before 1st July 2016

A Special Prize of £3 will be awarded with each cup.
