This instruction sheet complements, but does not replace instructions by your health care provider regarding the administration of Ganirelix Acetate Injection. It should be used only after receiving instruction from your health care provider.

READY Select and prepare your injection site

The most convenient injection sites are in the abdomen around the navel, or the upper thigh. With an alcohol pad, clean a two-inch space around the point where the needle will be inserted. Let dry at least one minute. Vary the injection site a little with each injection.

SET Uncap your syringe

With the syringe held upward, remove the needle cover.

Never touch the needle and never place an open needle on any surface.

INJECT Inject your Ganirelix Acetate Injection

Pinch up a large area of skin between your finger and thumb. Insert the needle at the base of the pinched-up skin at a 45-90° angle to the skin surface.

Pull back gently on the plunger. If the needle is correctly inserted, it will be difficult to pull the plunger back. If you see blood in the syringe after you pull back gently on the plunger, the needle tip has penetrated a vein or artery. If this happens, withdraw the needle slightly and reposition the needle without removing it from the skin. Alternatively, pull out the needle and apply pressure to the site with an alcohol pad. The bleeding should stop within two minutes. Discard the original needle and syringe immediately. Using a new, sterile, prefilled syringe, repeat the injection step. Once the needle is properly inserted, slowly and steadily depress the plunger until the syringe is empty. Pull the needle out quickly and apply pressure to the injection site with an alcohol pad. Maintaining pressure, gently massage the site to disperse Ganirelix Acetate Injection and help relieve any discomfort. Dispose of the needle and syringe as instructed by your health care provider. DO NOT REUSE. You have completed your injection!
