Watching birdlife (including the resident hens) from the terrace with a coffee in hand; enjoying cocktails at sunset in the Orangery, a wee dram before bed in the Snug; or casting a fishing rod into the River Esk which runs through the garden – however our guests choose to relax, they always find The Old Millhouse is a real haven of peace and tranquillity.

For the ultimate in relaxation, head straight for our new outdoor swim spa and indulge in the healing power of warm water. Discreetly hidden beneath rolling oak decking, the pool doubles as both large hot tub for some post-golf hydro massage and an actual exercise pool you can swim in – great to warm up or warm down at the beginning or end of the day. Fully heated and with LED lighting, we provide fluffy robes for total comfort.

Close to home (just down the road, in fact) is Restoration Yard at Dalkeith Country Park – a fantastic store with restaurant/café and the Wellness Lab, for some retail therapy, delicious cake and even a yoga session.
