TOPERINI INDUSTRIAL LOGISTICS BUSINESS PARK Vác TOPERINI INDUSTRIAL LOGISTICS BUSINESS PARK Vác TOPERINI Industrial Logistics Business Park, established as a green field investment, is situated in the middle region of Hungary, in the city of Vác, 2 km of the historical city centre. Thanks to its location the industrial park provides several advantages for the companies operating here: easy and rapid accessibility, and at the same time a suitably closed area to feel secure. With its competitive offers and services Toperini Industrial Park is endeavouring to encourage the economic development of the region, to provide favourable conditions for companies intending to settle down resp. to invest in Vác. 1. The city of Vác 1.1. Geographical characteristics The city of Vác ( www.vac.hu ) is situated on the left riverside of the Danube, 30 km north of the centre of Budapest. In the thousand years old history of the city first the ecclesiastical (episcopate), then the transport (shipping, railway), while recently (as of 1920) the industrial and cultural characteristics have dominated. 2 The motorway No. 2 runs across the city, starting from Budapest towards Zvolen, Banska Bistrica, resp. Nitra in Slovakia. The highway M2, being part of the European transport corridor 5/C (the Baltic Sea – the Adriatic Sea), connects Vác with the highway network of Hungary and Europe. The railway line running across the city is a very busy one. In Hungary the first railway line was opened up between Budapest and Vác, in 1846; nowadays the city of Vác is one of the important railway junctions in the main line Budapest - Szob - Bratislava. 1.2. Labour force Vác has a population of appr. 34 thousand. As a consequence of the economic crisis taken place in the recent years the development following the change of regime has come to a sudden stop and the unemployment has started to increase again. In lack of suitable working places/possibilities part of the unemployed persons are compelled to enter employment in Budapest, while, at the same time, there is a large number of employees working in the city, but living in the surrounding settlements, where, especially in Nógrád county, the rate of unemployment is very high – over the national average. An increasing number of Budapest resident employees hold down the jobs requiring higher or any special qualification. Vác is a regional educational centre; in the city there are several grammar schools providing technical and economic education. Beyond the above also the educational institutes of Budapest situated in 30 km provide secondary and university (bachelor and master) degree in several special fields. Besides, the Budapest universities have great research and development potential available for the companies, at request. Thanks to the advanced and multifold educational system the local employees are able to comply with the labour force demand of most of the companies. 3 1.3. Business environment Due to its regional role Vác provides traditionally favourable opportunities for the businesses. Almost every national organization, administration department and also the major Hungarian banks have a branch in the city. The following large companies are operating in the region: - General Electric - Zollner Elektronika - IBM - ContiTech - Michelin - Infopress Group - Heidelberger Zement - Lasselsberger-Knauf - SAMSUNG Electronics Besides the above there are a large number of smaller companies/undertakings operating in the city and its nearer region of attraction, providing excellent background for the larger companies with their commercial, servicing and supplying activities. 2. The industrial park The Toperini Industrial Park established in the development of Toperini Hungária Ltd. is located in the city of Vác, beside the main road to Gödöll ő, on a fenced, guarded area of 29 hectare. The industrial park has a complete built-in inner road network and an own industrial railway; it offers well accessible plots with complete infrastructure for companies intending to settle down or to invest in the region. The park offers for rent production and warehouse premises in the Industrial Hall and office rooms in the Central Office Building with up-to-date services, mainly for small companies starting their operation. For the time being both the Industrial Hall and the Office Building are full. Our target is to enable the companies settled down in the park to deal with their own activities, only, by organizing, providing any other conditions, services, required for their operation. For the operation of Toperini Industrial Park TIP-VÁC Ltd. is responsible. This company has been established for this special purpose, to ensure the industrial park services . At request the industrial park can render powerful and rapid assistance in the investment arrangements, licensing processes. 4 2.1. Traffic accessibility Toperini Industrial Park is accessible from two directions: either on main road Vác-Gödöll ő No. 2104 by any kind of vehicles, either by heavy goods vehicle, resp. from the city centre through Avar street, by passenger car and by light truck. Highway M2 (E77) is in 2 km distance from the park, by this way the running time is the following: - Budapest centre - abt. 35 km, by car 30-40 minutes, - Highway ring M0 – northern part - 21 km, by car 15-18 minutes, - Budapest Liszt Ferenc Airport - abt. 60 km, by car 45-50 minutes, In the region the public transport system is excellent, Budapest centre can be reached in 30-60 minutes by scheduled train and bus running several times in an hour, and there are also frequently scheduled lines from Vác to other settlements of the region. In the city there is a scheduled local bus line. The own industrial railway link, connecting to the international main railway line Budapest –Szob –Bratislava, is an important element of the logistical services provided by the Industrial Park. Inner road network 5 2.2. • Century Through the Example of Pest County
Ph.D. Thesis Schramek, László Péter The billeting and supply of the regular army in the first half of the 18th century through the example of Pest county Piliscsaba 2011 I. The researches of the military historians dealing with the history of the Habsburg Monarchy and Hungary have clarified the operation of the defence system against the Ottoman Empire just as well as the details of the circumstances of the campaigns of the Habsburgs towards the western countries and against the Turks. Hungarian and Austrian researchers started to uncover these aspects at the end of the 19th century. We can mention first of all the monumental series of publications concerning the age of Eugene of Savoy (Feldzüge des Prinzen Eugen von Savoyen) or the War of Austrian Succession (Criste, Oscar: Österreichischer Erbfolge-Krieg) edited by the Vienna Military Archive. Generations of excellent Hungarian historians have examined the formation and development of the system of border fortresses. As far as the history of the War of Independence of Rákóczi and the structure of the Kuruc army is concerned, we can rely on several volumes of scientific literature. However, important questions of the supply of the army during the period after the peace treaty of Szatmár have remained without investigation so far, although the presence of the soldiers in the villages and towns, their billeting in the houses of peasants and townspeople was an essential part of everyday life. The importance of the question is not to be underestimated. It was the opinion of Ferenc Rákóczi himself that besides the burden caused by the heavy taxes it was the revolting behaviour of the 2 imperial army that resulted in the fact that a large scale of the society supported the war of independence.
