These carriers have enabled consumers to enjoy a wider range of supply and low airfares (Costa & Almeida, 2018). In Europe, this process began in 1987 in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and strong growth allowed these carriers to capture quickly a large market share (Costa & Almeida, 2018).

    High flyers gather at Blackpool Airport LANCASHIRE members of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport enjoyed a fascinating insight into Blackpool Airport during a visit led by the Airport Director, Paul Rankin and the Corporate Affairs Manager, Sue Kendrick. Members were invited to learn more about the airport for Lancashire and the Lake District including its history, services and plans for the future. Delegates from around the North West represented leading companies and public sector organisations such as Fagan and Whalley in Padiham, BAE Systems, Lancaster City Council, Arriva Merseyside Ltd and Warrant Group in Liverpool. Richard Blaikie, Chairman of the Lancashire Group of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, said: “The visit to Blackpool Airport was the first of our 2012/13 monthly programme of educational and interesting best practice events for logistics and transport professionals living and working across the county. Abstract It is widely argued that low-cost carriers (LCCs) lead to an increase in tourism demand. However, there is no conclusive evidence when the airport is located in a region with large diaspora and outbound tourism. To gain insight into the relationship between LCCs and international tourism demand, we analyse whether a causal relationship exists between the number of international LCC passengers at the Porto airport and international tourism demand in the Galicia-North Portugal Euroregion using a vector autoregressive model. We evaluate the dynamics of the impacts of the LCC passengers on international tourism demand in a tourism demand model framework. The number of low-cost international passengers has a positive influence on international tourism demand in the regions of North Portugal and Galicia (Spain). Furthermore, the confidence interval for estimated elasticity overlaps the values estimated for main tourism destinations in previous studies in the Iberian Peninsula.

Background At the time of the review, FSCI (Fuel Supplies CI Limited) was the sole supplier of aviation fuel at Jersey and Guernsey airports. However since the beginning of September, there have been significant changes to the fuel supply arrangements at Jersey Airport. Prior to this change, FSCI operated the airport fuel facilities at each airport, and was the single importer, retailer and distributor of aviation fuel in Jersey and Guernsey. Two grades of aviation fuel are used in the Channel Islands; Jet A1 (also known as kerosine/kerosene) used by jet or turbo-prop aircraft, and Avgas (also known as gasoline) used for private or light aircraft.

The regional capital and most populated town is Florence with approximately 370,000 inhabitants while it features a Western coastline of 400 kilometers overlooking the Ligurian Sea (in the North) and the Tyrrhenian Sea (in the Center and South). Tuscany is known for its landscapes, traditions, history, artistic legacy and its influence on high culture. It is regarded as the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, the home of many influential in the history of art and science, and contains well-known museums such as the Uffizi and the Pitti Palace.
