Vývoj a struktura vybraného hotelového řetězce. [Diplomová práce] Vysoká škola hotelová. Praha : 2014. 75 stran. This foodservice giant with more than 30,000 restaurants in 100 countries provides food to nearly 50 million customers each day, but decades of expansion, sales growth, and profi ts made the burger giant complacent. By focusing on getting bigger, not better, the company stumbled in 2002, recording its fi rst losing quarter. By 2003, U.S. sales had fl attened, as many consumers were turning to healthier options and restaurants with more upscale menu items, a segment sometimes referred to as “ fast - casual ” . Morgan Spurlock’ s fi lm Super Size Me , released in 2004, also seriously diminished the public image of the quick - service chain, as moviegoers watched Spurlock become ill and gain 25 pounds after eating only McDonald’ s food for one month. With pressure to get back on track, it was time for McDonald ’ s to rethink the business.

These hotel industry changes are in a certain way more distinct than changes in other industries. As the main tourist activity, hotel industry displays all current changes in the tourism industry in the best way. The permanent growth of global tourism directly affects the fast development and dispersion of the hotel industry. The increased demand for hotel services and global economic development influenced changes in the hotel industry and creation of hotel chains on the global level. These hotel chains occupy a large percentage of the world hotel capacities and possess great financial power. One of their fundamental values is reflected in the fact that the inclusion of small hotels into their systems includes a whole range of supporting companies, thus improving the economy at the local level. Razvojem turizma i putovanja u proteklih nekoliko godina dolazi do velikih promjena u poslovnoj orijentaciji hotelskih poduzeća i razvitka hotelskih lanaca.
