Darkest dungeon steam curio guide Continue During expeditions there is a chance to meet a curiosity. There is a chance of a good or bad event from touching the curio. Supply items can be used on curiosities such as a torch or key to favorably change the chances of getting a good or bad event. Curios's location (edited editing source) can be found both inside rooms and in corridor segments. Different places contain different kinds of curiosities, but some varieties of curiosities are found in all types of dungeons. Each room can contain only one curiosity, while the corridor segments may contain more than one curious one. Unlike obstacles, curiosities do not interfere with passage when not activated, and thus can be left to be to minimize the risk, especially if there is a lack of proper position items to cause their benign effects. By interacting with Curios (edit the editing source) Once the party enters the room or segment containing the curiosity, it can be pressed to activate the hint. With the help of a hint, the curiosity can be activated directly or using the item of position: curiosities will react differently to certain elements. As a rule, the use of the correct item of the position will cause a positive effect, eliminating the possibility of negative consequences, but there are exceptions. There are several harmless curiosities that do not activate the hint and are immediately sought when interacting with. There is a fixed pool of items that can be looted by specific curiosities, but additional mining due to low light levels will be calculated separately and thus can be dumped even on curiosities with very specific drops of prey. An antique dealer can cause a special treasure to fall when it personally interacts with the curiosities. Many curiosities have effects such as causing stress, healing, bleeding, decline, applying buffs and debuffs or getting/removing the quirk that will affect individual characters. The injured hero is always the one who is being selected at the time of activation. It is advisable, when activating risky curiosities, to choose a hero with good resistance or one that can potentially be affected by negative consequences without endangering the expedition. Update: Now, as the disease has been reclassified as something other than a fad, curiosities no longer cure the disease (i.e. creepy coral with medicinal herbs does not cure anything on character without fads with the disease running). Forced interaction (edit the source of editing) Heroes with certain quirks or conditions sometimes interact with the curiosity without the player's consent. This is determined by the help of the type of Curio presented State hero - i.e. a hero with bloodthirsty quirks can interact with a dinner cart or mummified remains. Specifically, each Curio has a number of types that it is associated with, which these conditions are specially tuned to - the aforementioned Dinner Cart and Mummified Mummified both having a body typing (among others) that the bloodthirsty quirk specifically reacts to. Heroes who forcefully interact with Curio will never use the supply element, which will result in the consequences of interacting with Curio by default every time, regardless of whether the result is harmless, dangerous or even deadly. In addition, several forced interactions have the added effect of stealing the Hero of any prey that could be brought to itself - if this happens, Loot is revealed, but gray, and cannot be accepted. Typically, the most common cause of forced interaction will be negative quirks, but some diseases and some ailments can also cause forced interaction. Below is a list of the signs that force interaction, along with the type of curiosity that causes it, the likelihood of interaction and whether the trait will inspire theft.
