KOMEN ATLANTA WELCOMES TWO NEW BOARD MEMBERS

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Greater Atlanta Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure today announced the appointment of two new members to its board of directors. Loretta Walker, senior vice president and chief human resources officer for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (TBS, Inc.) joined the board in late 2011 and Karyn Cerulli, general sales manager at Cox Media Group Atlanta Music Stations will join the Komen Atlanta board effective April 1.

In her role at TBS, Inc. Walker has executive oversight of all recruitment, compensation, training and development, performance-management and succession-planning activity supporting the company. She joined TBS, Inc. in 1999 from BellSouth, where she served as director of human resources for the company’s long distance division. She currently resides in Atlanta.

Cerulli is responsible for local and national sales at Cox Media Group. She leads a team of 21 to develop strategic alliances, manage community relations and work with large budgets. Prior to joining Cox Media Group, Cerulli worked in executive management for Citadel Communications in Worcester, MA and Providence, RI. She currently lives in Atlanta with her husband and two children.

Komen Atlanta is the largest funding organization of breast cancer support in and strives to bridge the gap between healthcare disparities in the community. Since its inception in 1991, Komen Atlanta has raised $30 million to help enable women to detect and survive breast cancer.

ABOUT SUSAN G. KOMEN FOR THE CURE GREATER ATLANTA AFFILIATE Komen Atlanta is the local resource for breast cancer screening, treatment, education and support. Through events, including the Race for the Cure, and contributions, the Affiliate raises funds to enable women to detect and survive breast cancer. Seventy-five percent of all funds stay in Atlanta to provide breast health services for women who could not otherwise afford them. Twenty-five percent supports national research efforts to finding a cure. Komen Atlanta has raised $30 million since its inception in 1991. The Affiliate is part of the national Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization, which strives to save lives and end breast cancer forever. Komen is the largest private funder in the fight against breast cancer and has invested nearly $2 billion toward the cause.
