If so, please email [email protected] NEW COURSE TO BE RELEASED AUGUST 2021: Team Safe Trucking will be releasing (34 New Courses to Team Safe Trucking’s Driver Refresher Training Program on August 2021) These courses come from the required training curriculum outlined in the New Entry Level Driver Training regulation becoming effective on February 7, 2022. Although these training requirements have been identified for new CDL drivers, the information contained in these courses will be beneficial reminders for complying with FMCSA regulations, staying informed of what the FMCSA is expecting CDL drivers know and will assist the Forestry Transportation industry meet monthly training requirements, as well as keep safety at the focus of our operations. The courses will be the following: Basic Control Content: Driver Orientation, Control Systems and Dashboards, Pre and Post Trip Inspections, Basic Control, Shifting and Operating Transmissions, Backing and Docking, Coupling and Uncoupling Operating Procedures: Visual Search, Communication, Distracted Driving, Speed Management, Space Management, Night Operation and Extreme Driving Conditions Advanced Operating Practices: Hazard Perception, Skid Control/Recovery, Jackknifing and Other Emergencies and Railway-Highway Grade Crossings Vehicle Systems and Reporting Malfunctions: Identification and Diagnosis of Malfunctions 1, 2 & 3, Roadside Inspections and Maintenance Non-Driving Activities: Introduction to Non-Driving Activities 1 & 2, Handling and Documenting Cargo, Environmental Compliance, Hours of Service Requirements, Fatigue and Wellness Awareness, Post-Crash Procedures, Whitleblower Coercion, Tip Planning and Medical Requirements IN IT FOR THE LONG-HAUL ANNUAL MEETING Team Safe Trucking’s in it for The Long-Haul Annual Meeting will take place on Wednesday, October 6th, 2021, from 1 – 5pm at The Coeur D’Alene Resort, 115 S. 2nd Street, Coeur D’Alene Idaho. If you are interested in holding classroom trainings using Team Safe Trucking’s courses this class goes over how to hold a classroom training with or without internet access, administrative documentation, entering users, creating groups, managing classroom completions, and uploading administrative documentation. TEAM SAFE TRUCKING OUTREACH EFFORTS The greatest challenge is reaching out to Forestry Transportation Drivers and Business Owners to make them aware of Team Safe Trucking and what Team Safe Trucking can assist them with accomplishing. • Providing a Fleet Safety Training Program – new employee training, monthly training, and remedial training requirements (OSHA and Insurance) • Providing courses to meet FMCSA – Entry Level Driver Training Requirements for Classroom/Theory training (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) • Documenting driver training records all in one spot from industry training providers including Team Safe Trucking, mills, insurance companies, logger associations and Master Logger Programs. (CEU’s, Insurance, Lawyers, OSHA, FMCSA) • Ability to upload safety courses for non-driver employees and track their training progress. • Ability to store employee records so that owners can always have access to records, no matter where they are (The landing zone, in the woods, at the office, getting parts, meetings etc.) • Ability to assign courses to individuals. • Ability to monitor individuals course completion progress. • Ability to see which courses individuals are spending the most time completing. There has been an effort to connect with Forestry Transportation Business Owners and Drivers through State Master Logger Program lists, Logger Associations, Forestry Associations, Mills, Insurance Companies, Foresters, Colleges, Forestry Transportation Trainers to make Owners, Drivers, driver- trainers aware of the new FMCSA Entry Level Driver Training regulation and Team Safe Trucking’s Entry Level Driver Theory Training Program that can assist Forestry Transportation Businesses continue to train new drivers for the Forest Products Industry. Team Safe Trucking has been reaching out to contacts by state, sharing Team Safe Trucking’s Driver Refresher Training Program Brochure, Entry Level Driver Theory Training Brochure and Team Safe Trucking’s Course Catalogue for 2020-2021. Making sure that the industry knows about Team Safe Trucking, Team Safe Trucking’s mission and what we are offering for forestry transportation training solutions. ENTRY LEVEL DRIVER THEORY TRAINING PROGRAM – STATE SPONSORS Team Safe Trucking is working with State’s on how to make connections with organizations and businesses to become Behind the Wheel Training Providers and Trainers in their state. Team Safe Trucking has a Sample Master Trip Sheet that was provided during a FMCSA Regulation meeting in Washington to track Behind the Wheel Training from Behind the Wheel Training Providers. Encouraging state associations to create lists of Behind the Wheel Training Providers and Trainers on their websites. There have been social media ads created for those states that have sponsored Team Safe Trucking’s Entry Level Driver Theory Training Program to create awareness about the New Entry Level Driver Training Regulation and that Team Safe Trucking is providing a solution for their state including the state’s Entry Level Driver Theory Training website address and group key. TST is a resource for these states to ensure that when Forestry Transportation Businesses, College, Community schools, Veteran Programs, Prison Programs and Economic Development Programs are interested in offering the Entry Level Driver Theory Training Program they know how to access the program, provide the program, monitor the program and provide reports on how the program is doing at their organization.
