BRINGING UP SOME LOGS TO THE LANDING IS JIM JOHNSON. Jim did some log hauling for Johnson Tree Service before Drew’s cousin left the company for the oil fields. Jim jumped right in the opening and the two have been going strong for six years. Johnson Tree Service is based in the middle of the I-5 corridor in Western Washington which makes them close to a wide range of mills and timberlands.

The logging museum at the end of the Mt. Rainier Railroad line features a rich exploration in steam-era logging locomotives, along with handsaws (left), chainsaws, logging camp buildings, miniature steam locomotives (right) and much more. railroad riders can buy a ticket, enjoy the 35-minute trip up to the museum and spend 50 minutes checking things over before the return trip. The railroad has the most comprehensive collection of steam powered logging locomotives in North America, logging locomotives being geared engine steam locomotives which were better for steep logging terrain as opposed to traditional side-rod locomotives.
