CHAIRMAN’S LETTER Dear Members Welcome to the Centre Caravan and Motorhome Club in this my 3rd year as Chairman. I look forward to continuing in my role and working with our new and growing committee and hope to see as many of you as possible on the rally field soon. I have been caravanning for a few years now along with my wife Michelle and my children Charlotte and Alfie and now our new addition Bailey our Cockapoo Puppy. Rallying is a great way to have a great family holiday and relax, meet new people and see parts of the countryside you would never normally visit. A caravan rally is just a temporary site for the weekend with friends. With or without electricity, you can have a great time in your caravan away from the grid. Just ask us and any of our regular ralliers, you can survive without being fully connected to the grid. My family and I look forward to meeting you and if you haven’t rallied before and have any concerns, just come and see us on one of our rallies, either with or without your van, just to see what it’s all about. A great way to meet new friends and catch up with old ones. See you soon Mark Lloyd Chairman CHAIRMAN’S CHARITY 2019 During the year we will once again be collecting donations for Troop Aid. When service personnel are injured either on training exercise or in combat they return to the without their personal effects or clothing. Troop Aid supplies them with the ‘basic essentials’.

Page | 4 OFFICERS LETTERS RALLY SECRETARY Hi Everyone Last year we had a fantastic summer with more and more people spending their money on caravans and motorhomes and were hitting the open road hoping to explore and discover new adventures. Looking at commercial site prices, if you want to use your outfit regularly, rallying is the inexpensive way to get the most out of your “van.” So, we’ve booked the weekend rallies and we’d love to see you on the field to make more new friends along the way and every member new or old is welcome Martyn Prince, Rally Secretary SECRETARY Greetings to members old and new, in my first year as centre secretary. We started attending rallies in 2017, though we had done some previously. It has been a great way to explore our home county. An opportunity to socialise with new people or just relax and watch the world go by. You choose to do as much or as little as you like. You can come on your own, with your children and/or your dogs – all welcome. We used to use our caravan for two weeks in the summer and often a week in May. Now we try to be away as many weekends as we can. Rallies are a cost-effective way of getting more use out of your caravan or motorhome. Don’t be worried about not having electric hook-up, a good battery and gas and you’re sorted. Always experienced help at hand! Shropshire Centre look forward to giving you a warm welcome on the rally field in 2019. Carolyn, Secretary VICE CHAIRMANS Welcome all once again to your Club. My second year now as Vice Chairman for the Club, and the club has gone from strength to strength seeing new members becoming regular ralliers on the field. Having converted to a wobble box we have never looked back since rallying with the Club. It’s taken us to locations that keep us all entertained (including our children) over a weekend with good company! Looking forward to new challenges, but more importantly meeting ralliers from previous years and equally future newcomers yet to join us and realise this affordable, enjoyable and relaxing pastime. Kris, Vice Chairman Welcome everybody Now moving into my second year as vice chairman, it great to see the club growing with new families and fresh faces stepping forward to join the committee. My family and I have had a lovely first two years of rallying, which I’d like to share with more people. This year is going to be an exciting year with a full rally programme of fabulous weekends and competitions. We look forward to seeing more new members and old friends out and about, so get round those friends who own a caravan and invite them to join us for fun filled and relaxing weekends. Stephen, Vice Chairman

Page | 8 SHROPSHIRE CENTRE RALLYING A special award will be made to members who have attended 100, 200, 300, 400 etc Shropshire rallies. Please inform the Rally Secretary when you are about to qualify for one of these awards. NEW RALLIERS Don’t be deterred by the ‘notes’ in this book which only list common sense points to ensure that everyone can enjoy our rallies. If you are unsure about anything, just ask and anyone will be pleased to help you. RALLY MARSHALS Rally Marshals are responsible to Centre Officers for the conduct of their rally. Members attending allies must comply with the instructions of the Rally Marshal or their deputy. HAVE A GO AT MARSHALLING Rallies cannot held without Rally Marshals – don’t be shy – have a word with the Rally Secretary. If you do not feel confident enough to run a rally on your own, why not put yourself down as an assistant to someone more experienced to see what is involved. If everyone helps, no-one has to do more than their share. OTHER CENTRE’S RALLY BOOKS Other centre’s rally books are held by the Rally Secretary. COMPETITIONS At certain rallies, competitions are organised to add interest to the rally. Whilst we have trophies which have been donated, these are incidental to the spirit of the competition. Trophies may be awarded to Shropshire members only, but visitors are welcome to compete for other prizes. Please contact the Competitions Officer for any further information. ATTENDANCE AWARD An attendance award will be made to members attending 75% or more of Shropshire Rallies between AGMs starting October 2018 - October 2019. One rally attendance per weekend to count. Members must sleep at least one night in their van to qualify for a plaque which will be awarded to fellow members at the AGM. Attendance at the National Rally, The Welsh and Scottish Rallies and absence on official Shropshire Centre Caravan & Motorhome Club duties will count towards the rallies required for the award. Members are requested to inform the Rally Secretary if they have attended any of the functions listed above. IMPORTANT INFORMATION The Caravan Club Shropshire Centre Ltd is governed by the Caravan Club Ltd trading as The Caravan & Motorhome Club. Directions & Post Codes: The directions and post codes given in the program of the rallies are mainly supplied by the landowners of the rally fields. When approaching the rally please follow the Shropshire (SCC) signs which will guide you to the field. Taking an alternative route may endanger both yourselves and other road users.

Page | 9 Please Note: Whilst every effort has been made to organise the Rallies around events taking place, we cannot be accountable in any way for any changes in the event diary which is beyond the Centre’s control. The Centre holds various competitions and some rallies may be themed, these are planned by the marshals and tend (sometimes due to numbers and weather) to be organised closer to the date. Further information can be found by visiting the Website, Twitter or Facebook. VAT: Vat has been calculated and included in all the rally fees at 20%. Any subsequent changes to the standard rate may affect the site fees. RALLY SITES AND MARSHALS If you know of a possible site, please contact the Rally Secretary. He will try to fit it into his programme and will be delighted if you offer to marshal it as well. Please remember that next year’s rally programme has to be finished and ready to go to press at the time of the AGM (usually October), so make your suggestions early in the year for inclusion on the following year’s rally book. It’s too late by the time to AGM comes around. NEW SITE FORM The Centre is always looking for new sites or perhaps a return to a fond place. If you know of a likely venue, or come across one on your travels, for either a weekend, Bank Holiday, or even a place to hold a holiday rally, fill in this form and hand it to the Rally Secretary. Rallies are booked at least twelve months ahead. PLEASE COMPLETE IN BLOCK CAPITALS

The competition is independently judged. The AGM is followed by a social on the Saturday with an evening meal (no charge). At the Pub turn left into village, the Hall is on the left by the Church.
