Return from Pulverbatch at 14:35 on an Arriva 546 bus. Travel to Knockin on Arriva 576 bus to Oswestry and walk to West Felton to reach the Shropshire Union canal by way of Cupids Ramble. Leave the canal to head for St Winifred’s Well, with its powers to relieve aches and pains. The return from either Woolston or Maesbury Marsh will get back to Shrewsbury by 14:00. Depart 09:00 Shrewsbury Bus Station. Sun 25 Mar Brian Christmas ( 01743 243532 ) 8 miles Moderate Adstone Hill and the Western Long Mynd. Initial walk over little Adstone Hill (once Shropshire Way) gives excellent views across to Western escarpment of Mynd and of Stiperstones. We then cross ‘Prolley Moor’ and ascend diagonally up escarpment to glider station. There follows an easy high level march along ‘Portway’ past ‘Pole Cottage’ and ‘Pole Bank’ summit to ‘Shooting Box’ before an equally enjoyable gradual descent through open country to Medlicot, then along minor road back to Bridges.
