Healing. Love: Programs & Services Located in the heart of downtown Detroit, the Pope Francis Center offers programs and services made possible by the generosity of friends like you. Your compassion provides a hot shower on a cold winter morning … a filling meal for an empty stomach … a doctor’s expert hand to mend a broken bone. For a person living on Detroit’s streets, your kindness allows the Pope Francis Center to remain a beacon of help and hope. “A LITTLE BIT OF MERCY MAKES THE WORLD LESS COLD AND MORE JUST.” – POPE FRANCIS 6 POPE FRANCIS CENTER | 2017-2018 GRATITUDE REPORT PROGRAMS & SERVICES SHOWERS DENTAL CLINIC 3. 4. Love: By the Numbers Behind every number or statistic at the Pope Francis Center, there are human faces and beating hearts. A mother who lost her job, and then slowly her way, now sleeps alone beneath a highway bridge. An elderly veteran whose body and mind can’t escape the terrors of a long-ago war. Or a teen who ran away from an abusive home but continues to mask his hurt and pain through addiction. These are the guests we welcome each day with open arms and open doors. Their words of gratitude for what YOU make possible communicate more beauty and meaning than any spreadsheet or pie chart ever could. “FOR ME, POPE FRANCIS CENTER IS LOVE, JOY AND FAMILY, BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT IT GAVE ME.” – POPE FRANCIS CENTER GUEST 8 POPE FRANCIS CENTER | 2017-2018 GRATITUDE REPORT REVENUE BY THE BY NUMBERS Contributions & Grants $1,173,387 Material Donations $92,890 Food Donations $43,989 58,440 Donated Services $48,094 MEALS SERVED TOTAL SUPPORT $1,358,360 86% Contributions and Grants 3% Food Donations 4% 3,781 Donated Services LOADS OF LAUNDRY 7% Material Donations EXPENSES 5,987 Program Expenses $830,824 SHOWERS TAKEN Administration $91,531 Fundraising $118,050 Prudent Reserve $300,000 TOTAL EXPENSES $1,340,405 155,840 HOURS SPENT OFF 9% THE STREETS Administration 80% Program Expenses 20,025 CUPS OF COFFEE 11% SERVED Fundraising 9 Help.
