Centro-matic Tr iggers and Trash Heaps Label: Misra Catalog #: MSR38 Street date: February 7, 2006 Format: CD List Price: $6.98 Box Lot Quantity: 25 Packaging: Jewel case File Under: Rock/Indie 1. Tr iggers and Trash Heaps 2. The Little Guitars 3. Take a Rake (demo) 4. Tr iggers and Trash Heaps (stairwell demo) "What makes (Will Johnson) such a phenomenal lyricist is that he opts for the simplest language when painting an abstract picture." -- Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie in the New Yo rk Times "It's unforgettable in a Neil Young or Jeff Tweedy kind of way… As multifarious as the indie rock canon it's practically everything: from the South, in the basement, smoking pot, on the porch, plugging in, plucking soft and clocking out. It's a hootenanny of sweetly weathered proportions, free-wheeling clap-alongs and perfectly boozy balladry - not to mention ass kicking pop songs about rotary wheels and shotgun shells. Love You Just the Same is what a trucker cap would sound like if it could sing. Oh, and play violin." -- Magnet "HOT LIST! Oct 2003 - Country twang with a pinch of emo, held together by Will Johnson's raspy, searching voice. It's hearty, stick-to-your-ribs fare that makes you proud to be an American." -- Rolling Stone "These resonant fables of half-loved underdogs, essentially preposterous scenarios reported with apocalyptic seriousness, call to mind the last two Flaming Lips discs... the band hugely rawks here in an unprecedented approximation of their live show, often summoning the moldy hearts of Mould and Hart.

  • For NC Transfer Students, a Clearer Path to a Degree
Serving UNC students and the University community since 1893 Volume 122, Issue 75 dailytarheel.com Thursday, September 18, 2014 Students For NC transfer students, panic over a clearer path to a degree downed CCI CCI printers were down throughout the day Wednesday. By Colleen Moir Staff Writer Students who approached Carolina Computing Initiative printing stations expecting to swipe their UNC One Cards and print assignments were in for an unpleasant surprise Wednesday — the system was down for eight hours during prime class time. All CCI printers across campus failed begin- ning around 9 a.m., and the problem was com- pletely resolved around 5 p.m., said Jeremiah Joyner, Teaching and Learning Interactive man- ager for Information Technology Services. The failure came from an uncommon commu- nication error between the system that receives student print jobs and the system where students can pay for their print jobs, Joyner said. “There hasn’t been an outage this long for a while,” Joyner said. Other options for printing on campus were available to students, all of which forced them to pay out of pocket for their print jobs during the time that CCI Printing was down. Signs on the CCI printers in the Undergraduate Library urged students to take their print jobs to the UNC Print Stop, located on the third floor of Student Stores. “There has been a constant line of customers,” Lydia Thompson, a senior and sales associate at DTH/MARtha-scOTT BENSON the UNC Print Stop said around 3:30 p.m. “It’s hard to keep track of them all.” Carlos Cordero (left) speaks to Erik Carlos II at the C-Step Kickoff Monday.

news #34 MUNGOLIAN JETSET - MUNGODELICS Hot on the heels of 2011`s "Schlungs", the Jetsetters have kept those buttons busily pushed, and are already here with their next chapter installment, featuring 8 new nuggets entitled "Mungodelics". The album is essentially a psychodramatic sequel to the highly acclaimed "We Gave It All Away, Now We Are Taking It Back" album of 2009, as it is musically a blend of originals and remakes made into originals, as well as solo performances and external collaborations from the band`s musical core members, Knut Saevik and Paul "Strangefruit" Nyhus. All in all, "Mungodelics" musically summons everything that is hazy, dazy, underearthly and crazy. This is the Mungolian Jetset taking you on a ride through the seasons, and shifts of the days and nights, from the Cantina to the Ewok forest, via ritualistic dancing at Kilmin Taboour and stellar swimming in the galactic Goa. "Not just the rhythm section, but the rhythm of the horns, the rhythm of the vocals, the rhythm of the keyboards, everybody's rhythm.
