Dear Resident The purpose of this report is to keep you informed of some of the issues I have dealt with on your behalf during 2014/15. Real progress has been made in respect of these and I hope that you will find this information of interest. Local Member Activities Topics Main Issues Planning Met with people as necessary to discuss and promote planning applications; especially those connected to local needs. Met with them on the site and spoke on their behalf in planning meetings. Attended and expressed an opinion in public meetings regarding wind turbines. Attended three community councils and listened and provided guidance from time to time regarding a variety of issues including planning. This is on-going throughout the year. Street Scene Dealt with issues regarding road signs, street signs and speed signs. Contacted officers on behalf of three community councils in order to deal with issues relating to filling potholes in the roads, cutting hedges and trees that are growing out onto the roads, cleaning gutters, brushing pavements and roads and so forth. Again, this is on-going throughout the year. Transport I do my best to keep a public service in rural areas and in that regard, contacted the relevant officers, raised the issues in the chamber and attended public meetings. Dealt with applications from parents for home to school transport for their children. Again, this is on-going throughout the year Education & Children I am active and busy in my role as Chair of the Education and Children Scrutiny Committee. Regeneration & Leisure Supported and collaborated with local organisations to obtain planning permission and grants to enable them to secure cultural and recreational resources in the areas. -
