Who Am I to Judge Another?

We all must use good judgement as we trudge the road of life Since that day I’ve monitored my judge mentality For if we lack in this domain it often ends in strife And as I reign it in, I gain my own integrity Good Judgement tells us, look both ways, before we cross the road It’s not my job to point out others, when I think they’re flawed For if we don’t a bus may come and squash us like a toad For if I harbored that approach, I’d still be playing God. It’s when we’re judging other people, that we go astray Accepting them just as they are, is the remedy But it comes back to haunt us in a dark and shameful way We learn that no one’s perfect and that’s oh so plain to see I asked myself why I was prone to pointing out their faults When pointing out the faulty things that other people do When in my mind it seems to foster negative results The act of judging others nears the top of that list too Then in a conversation with a friend who understood He said that shaming other people, never ends up good Rick R. When pointing out their faults and flaws it shows I’m off the beam And that it really does expose my own low self-esteem
