ZEUS DIONE 2015 SS Lookbook Preview.Pdf SPRING - SUMMER 2015 www.zeusndione.com The SS 2015 collection refers to the enigmatic and intriguing journey through the weakness of the human soul to the great and terrifying powers of nature. Zeus+Δione transfigures the symbols of the ancient adyton, a mysterious architectural feature with enclosed lines, semi-covered views defined by the interplay of light and darkness. It now appears in the present collection as a symbolic reflection of natural space and color with restricted forms and panels. The color palette of the SS2015 collection spans from bright off-white to black, including shades of IN THE ADYTON OF NATURE crocus yellow, sea blue and sage. The fine textures in silk, linen and cotton are embellished with metallic threads of gold and silver. Paneled prints are introduced for the first time and fine, structured tailoring highlights the silhouettes of the garments. Exclusively hand-woven stripped cotton fabrics remark the rebirth of traditional craftsmanship through a fresh spectrum. Handmade leather sandals and bags, from premium calf and lamb leather, as well as handmade silver and gold-plated jewelry follow the same aesthetic in absolute symmetry, complementing the SS2015 collection. 6 12 17 20 27 “Just a little more Let us rise just a little higher.” Giorgos Seferis 30 36 41 43 46 53 Zeus+Δione offers hand-made, high quality products of refined craftsmanship. Selected groups of manufacturers and work- shops throughout Greece with deep knowledge and expertise, have been chosen to serve this purpose. The inspiration arises from the rich heritage of the Hellenes, their culture and their land. The creations serve the modern lifestyle, yet support and embrace the traditional techniques. Silk and cotton pieces are weaved on traditional looms in the town of Soufli, hand crochet items are knitted by local women in Attica and other parts of Greece. Silver handmade fastenings are wielded by Athenian silversmiths. Dresses and shirts are weaved in Metsovo and in Crete. Embroideries based on traditional patterns are stiched by artisans on the island of Crete. Zeus+Δione is a company based on a myth and one that creates a myth at the same time. • Mechanism of Electrical Conductivity in Metallic Fiber-Based Yarns
AUTEX Research Journal, Vol. 20, No 1, March 2020 DOI: 10.2478/aut-2019-0008 © AUTEX MECHANISM OF ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY IN METALLIC FIBER-BASED YARNS Juan Xie1, Menghe Miao2, Yongtang Jia1 1School of Textile Materials and Engineering, Wuyi University, Jiangmen, Guangdong Province, China 2CSIRO Manufacturing, 75 Pigdons Road, Waurn Ponds, Victoria 3216, Australia [email protected] Abstract: We explore the conductive mechanism of yarns made from metallic fibers and/or traditional textile fibers. It has been proposed for the first time, to our knowledge, that probe span length plays a great role in the conductivity of metallic fiber-based yarns, which is determined by the probability and number of conductive fibers appearing on a cross section and their connecting on two neighboring sections in a yarn’s longitudinal direction. The results demonstrate that yarn conductivity is negatively influenced to a large extent by its length when metallic fibers are blended with other nonconductive materials, which is beyond the scope of conductivity theory for metal conductors. In addition, wicking and wetting performances, which interfere with fiber distribution and conductive paths between fibers, have been shown to have a negative influence on the conductivity of metallic fiber-based yarns with various structures and composed of different fiber materials. Such dependence of the conductivity on the probe span length, as well as on the moisture from air and human body, should get attention during investigation of the conductivity of metallic fiber-based composites in use, especially in cases in which conductive yarns are fabricated into flexible circuit boards, antennas, textile electrodes, and sensors.

  • Studying the Functional Performance Properties of the Fabrics Including
STUDYING THE FUNCTIONAL PERFORMANCE PROPERTIES OF THE FABRICS INCLUDING METALLIC YARN Mohamed Abd El-Gawad Assistant Professor in Spinning, Weaving and Knitting Dept. Faculty of Applied Arts, Helwan University ABSTRACT In the recent years, the using of the metallic yarns has been increased mainly in upholstery and clothing fabrics because it is gives an aesthetic and decorative value in the textiles. But using the metallic yarns by large ratio may cause some undesirable effects and also can influence on the physical and mechanical properties of the produced fabrics. The aim of these researches is to investigate the effect of the presence of the metallic yarns inside the fabrics on the functional performance properties and to put the most suitable standards for using the metallic to produce balanced product has aesthetic form and functional performance properties. In this research each fabric of the produced contains different ratios of metallic yarns, the polyester yarns were chosen to use as a conventional yarns beside the metallic yarns because it is the most commonly used material in the upholstery field. The produced fabrics were finished by heat setting. Then grey and finished fabrics were tested with some mechanical tests determine their functional performance they are produced for. The test results obtained showed that the finished fabrics have scored high rates for tensile strength, elongation, abrasion resistance than grey fabrics. The grey fabrics have scored high rates for tear strength, fabric stiffness. Keywords: Metallic Yarns, Heat Setting, Tensile Strength, Tear Strength, Abrasion Resistance. I. INTRODUCTION In addition to technical considerations, aesthetics is also important in the production of fashionable fabrics.

  • Fiber Selection for Reinforced Additive Manufacturing
polymers Review Fiber Selection for Reinforced Additive Manufacturing Ivan Philip Beckman *, Christine Lozano, Elton Freeman and Guillermo Riveros Information Technology Laboratory, U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center, Vicksburg, MS 39180, USA; [email protected] (C.L.); [email protected] (E.F.); [email protected] (G.R.) * Correspondence: [email protected]; Tel.: +1-16-01-397-0391 Abstract: The purpose of this review is to survey, categorize, and compare the mechanical and thermal characteristics of fibers in order to assist designers with the selection of fibers for inclusion as reinforcing materials in the additive manufacturing process. The vast “family of fibers” is described with a Venn diagram to highlight natural, synthetic, organic, ceramic, and mineral categories. This review explores the history and practical uses of particular fiber types and explains fiber production methods in general terms. The focus is on short-cut fibers including staple fibers, chopped strands, and whiskers added to polymeric matrix resins to influence the bulk properties of the resulting printed materials. This review discusses common measurements for specific strength and tenacity in the textile and construction industries, including denier and tex, and discusses the proposed “yuri” measurement unit. Individual fibers are selected from subcategories and compared in terms of their mechanical and thermal properties, i.e., density, tensile strength, tensile stiffness, flexural rigidity, moisture regain, decomposition temperature, thermal expansion, and thermal conductivity. This review concludes with an example of the successful 3D printing of a large boat at the University of Maine and describes considerations for the selection of specific individual fibers used in the additive Citation: Beckman, I.P.; Lozano, C.; Freeman, E.; Riveros, G.
