Job Title: Education Partnerships Manager

Main purpose of the job: UCL is the only sole university sponsor of an Academy school (The UCL Academy in Camden). We also maintain a Partnership for Excellence with City & Islington Sixth Form College, and have recently established a strategic partnership with Newham Collegiate Sixth Form College. The Education Partnerships Manager will be responsible for co- ordinating UCL’s support for these institutions and managing a comprehensive programme of activities. The role holder will:

· Work with both schools (and any other future partners) to identify their priorities for UCL support and academic input; · Liaise with academics and others across the university to secure participation in a series of lectures, masterclasses and other activities tailored to the needs of the schools; · Collaborate with UCL staff in other relevant departments to support the roll-out of existing UCL schemes (e.g. tutoring and mentoring) into UCL’s key partner schools; · Manage the administration of UCL’s programme of activities in support of its partners, including booking rooms, sourcing equipment, confirming speakers, organising handouts.

The postholder will have an important role to play in ensuring that UCL is able to meet its commitments as partner and as sponsor. This is an exciting position for an individual with experience of working with schools and colleges.

The role will be based at UCL, in the Vice-Provost (Education & Student Affairs)’s office but the roleholder will spend some time each week at the UCL Academy, working with colleagues in the CPD team. This is likely to be one day per week, and more at key times during the year.

Main Tasks Liaise with staff at partner schools to identify their priorities for engagement and work under the direction of the Senior Advisor (Education) to develop this into a coherent strategic proposal for UCL’s work with those partners Promote UCL’s education partnerships to UCL academics, administrators and (where appropriate) postgraduate students to encourage greater engagement with partner schools, including providing advice and guidance on potential activities, and building up a strong network of contacts to support UCL’s programme Provide administrative support to facilitate UCL’s activities with partner schools (e.g. agreeing dates for events with academics and schools; ensuring rooms are booked and handouts / equipment provided, acting as secretary to the Academy Advisory Board, and the UCL / CANDI Partnership and UCL / NCS Liaison Groups.

Act as the first port of call for ad hoc enquiries from UCL staff / staff in partner schools about potential activities / development work, and follow these up as necessary Develop and manage systems to allow partner school staff, UCL staff and partner school students to evaluate the success of events and activities – and to use those evaluations to develop the partnerships further. Ensure that data on take-up, activities and UCL participation is recorded for use in workplan development and in strategic planning with the Head of Student Engagement and the Director of Education Planning and UCL Outreach (in relation to UCL’s Access Agreement obligations). Monitor expenditure against the Education Partnerships budget to facilitate financial reporting. Work with the Head of Student Engagement and the Director of Education Planning to identify deficiencies or gaps in UCL’s offer to its educational partners, and suggest strategies for addressing those gaps Support the VP (Education)’s team with other activity as required.
