Thirty pupils from Churchill Gardens Primary Academy visited UCS for a lesson in Ancient Greek before hearing a talk from historical novelist Ben Kane on the Romans.

In March, Kilburn Grange School pupils became the beneficiaries of our first Art Immersion event. Year 3 children learned to use tones to create a sense of depth within their paintings and deployed wax resist methods to illustrate jungle scenes, which coincided with their project on adventurers. Meanwhile, laser cutting techniques helped to cut the stencils of their characters. Inspired by their paintings, the pupils wrote their own short stories which were later collated into a Zine.

“The session on Ancient Greek was great! Our children are accustomed to listening quietly and they loved the passion of the teachers, the detailed and difficult explanation – you really had to concentrate as there were lots of similarities between the Greek letters – and the challenging worksheets.”
