"Fierce clashes in Yarmouk Camp with Demands for Bread and Humanitarian Convoys" The death of one of Sabina's residents in Alderkhbayh battels. High school students return to Yarmouk. Recent Updates A number of Yarmouk citizens who live in Yalda was protesting against the Syrian siege on Yarmouk and southern area of Damascus. They called UNRWA and PLO to assume their responsibilities towards Palestinian refugees in Syria especially people of Yarmouk. Moreover, there were demands for bread and humanitarian convoys. Email:[email protected] - Tel:+442084530919 - Fax:+442084530994 - Mob:+447447423737 In different context, there were serious clashes between Syrian regime and its affiliates against opposition groups around Yarmouk municipality, Yarmouk high school, Sabbareen and Carmel schools in Palestine St. It's important to mention that ISIS had handed Carmel school, one of UNRWA schools, to "Free Palestine Movement", which is allied with Syrian regime, without bloodshed. In the meantime, high school students have returned yesterday after they finished their pre- final exams for the year 2016-2017 which was held by Ministry of Education. Despite the siege fierce clashes between ISIS and Al- Nusra Front, students went to "Said al-Ass" and "Palestine" Institutes in Damascus. In western Ghouta of Damascus countryside, Russian- Syrian aircrafts targeted Khan Al-Sheih with two raids. One of the raids hit the eastern lane of the camp causing extensive destruction and rising panic. While regime's artillery bombed Khan Al- Sheih- Zakia road, which is considered as the only lifeline road that provides people with its needs and supplies. And Since all roads leading to the camp are closed, people have to take Zakia Road in spite of its highly danger since the Syrian regime's sites were always being targeted there. It's also called " the road of Death" since large number of victims were killed there. In its turn, the association of "Palestinian Doctors in Europe" warned from the deterioration of humanitarian situation in Khan Al – Sheih and called its residents' conditions as "catastrophic". It also mentioned in its statement that this deteriorated situation is a result of targeting civilians by deadly international prohibited weapons. Those weapons left dozens of victims and injuries, wide destruction in infrastructure and general facilities like medical centers and the only hospital, which are now off-duty. In addition to endanger the lives of 12000 civilians including 3000 children in the camp. The association also appealed the international community and governmental and non-governmental organizations to rescue civilians, open safe paths, provide the camp with medical aids, medicines and special food for infants and newborn babies and to allow patients to get out of the camp for their treatment. AGPS documentation and observation team reported that Syrian regime had arrested in September (8) Palestinian refugees; (4) of them from Neirab, (2) from Yarmouk and the last (2) were from Muzeireeb in the south if Daraa. AGPS has also confirmed that its documentation team had reported about (1112) Palestinian detainees since the beginning of war in Syria and most of them were young men. Moreover, there were a number of arrests for journalists, relief activists and Palestinian leaders and figures. Palestinians of Syria; Numbers and Statistics until 16/10/2016 (15500) Palestinian Syrian refugees are in Jordan. (42,500) Palestinian Syrian refugees are in Lebanon. (6000) Palestinian Syrian refugees are in Egypt, according to the UNRWA statistics till July 2015. (8000) Palestinian Syrian refugees are in Turkey. (1000) Palestinian Syrian refugees are in Gaza. More than (79,000) Palestinian Syrian refugees have reached Europe till mid-2016. Yarmouk Camp: siege, imposed by the Regime's Army and PFGC groups, continued for (1216) consecutive days. Power cut continued for more than (1277) days. water was cut for (767) days respectively. The number of siege victims is (190). Handarat Camp: - All Residents have left the camp for about (1261) days after the Syrian Opposition Groups controlled it. Daraa Camp: - It is now almost (919) days without water and almost 70% of its buildings were totally destroyed. Jarmana, AL Sayeda -Zeinab, Al Raml, Al Aedein Camps in Homs and Hama: A relatively quiet situation in light of the economic crises. Khan Al Sheih Camp: Roads linking the camp to the city center are still closed except for Zakia- Khan Al Sheih road.     Promoters of BDS—the movement to boycott, divest from, and bring sanctions against the Jewish state of Israel—are open about their aim of pressuring Israel to relinquish land for a Palestinian state. What they less often share is that a two- state solution—Israel and Palestine living side-by-side in peace—is not their goal. THE ORIGINS OF THE ISRAEL BOYCOTT ven before the State of Israel was officially declared in 1948, with the endorsement of the EUN and backed by the immediate recognition of U.S. President Harry Truman, Arabs in British Mandatory Palestine and throughout the region declared war against the Jews. They sought to kill as many as possible, drive the rest out of the country, and end the Jewish state. That era of belligerency lasted over 30 years before Israel and its chief antagonist, Egypt, signed a peace accord in 1979. When it became clear that war could not defeat Israel, those seeking to bring Israel to its knees shifted tactics, and the Palestinian Intifada was born. It came in two waves of terror, running from 1987 to 1993 and then from 2000 to 2005. These surges were premised on the idea that Jews were foreign colonizers who, like European imperialists in the Third World, could be driven out by making the cost of staying higher than the colonizers could bear. But the Palestinians learned during their terror campaigns that the threat of physical harm would not end the Jewish state, because the Jews knew that they belonged in Israel. Next came the current stage in the long-running campaign against Israel—the movement to boycott, divest from, and bring sanctions against Israel, or “BDS” for short.

    Dhirubhai Ambani International Model United Nations 2019 Forum: GA1 – Disarmament and International Security Issue: Demilitarization of militias in post-IS Syria Student Officer: Ishaan Goel Position: Deputy Chair Introduction The Syrian Civil War is arguably the worst civil conflict of the century, having drawn on for the past eight years. Almost 400,000 people have been killed and millions more have been displaced from their homes, either into other nations or to other regions within Syria itself. The conflict has several participants, ranging from the Syrian people themselves to foreign military personnel. However, the most notable belligerents have been the independent militias, formed in large numbers during the course of the war. The oldest of these are the anti-government rebel forces and pro-government militias, which have existed as long as the War itself. Till 2014, however, their numbers were limited. The formation and brutal rise of ISIL in 2014, along with the establishment of its theocratic caliphate, led to the rise of several reactionary groups to counter it. Some of them were even formed with foreign aid from nations such as the USA, Russia, Iran and Turkey. A large number of Arab tribes in Syria too formed their own militias. These militias all had one common objective – eradicating ISIL – but otherwise, they had little to nothing in common, often fighting amongst each other. After the defeat of the last stronghold of ISIL in early 2019, the issue of demilitarization of these militias has come to the forefront. With ISIL now almost completely vanquished, the militias are pursuing their individual interests in the Syrian Civil War.

    Free Gaza Movement: Anti-Israel Boat Campaign Challenges Israel's "Siege of Gaza" INTRODUCTION The latest in a series of efforts by anti-Israel activists to "break the siege" on Gaza has resulted in failure. The Freedom Flotilla II, an international coalition of groups seeking to send several ships to Gaza, were not permitted to leave the Greek port from where they intended to sail with a few hundred activists. The second flotilla was intended to be a sequel to the May 2010 flotilla that tried to sail to Gaza but was intercepted by the Israeli Navy. The 2010 and 2011 flotillas were both organized by the Cyprus-based Free Gaza Movement (FGM), a wide variety of pro-Palestinian European organizations and Insani Yardim Vakfi (IHH), a pro-Hamas Turkish charity. Since August 2008, FGM had sent several boats to Gaza under the guise of delivering humanitarian aid. Their missions have consistently sought to provoke confrontation with the Israeli military, in turn creating widespread propaganda value for organizers, who have used the international attention they receive to present their one-sided and biased views of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. FGM's mission, as stated on its Web site, is to elicit international opposition to Israel's policies: "We want to break the siege of Gaza. We want to raise international awareness about the prison-like closure of the Gaza Strip and pressure the international community to review its sanctions policy and end its support for continued Israeli occupation." In the year leading up to the first mission and in the months that followed, organizers criticized Israel's founding, propagated messages about Israel's brutality and recommended international sanctions against Israel.
