Polish Fistball Association POLISH FISTBALL ASSOCIATION Dear Ladies and Gentlemen I have been involved in professional volleyball for over 20 years. As a player I gained Junior World Championship in 1997, Junior Europe Championship in 1996, six titles as a Polish Champion, bronze medal on the Champions League, bronze medal of Austria Championship in 2014 as well as bronze medal on the Czech Republic Championship in 2015. I was proud to represent Poland on the Olimpic Games in Athens in 2004 and also be representative of Polish National Team for 120 times. Thanks to my experience gained during sport's carrier and the chance of working with professionals I know how to combine sport and business to get on well together. Fistball- the sport which is the combination of volleyball and tennis on the grass court. This discipline is not popular among Polish fans and observers but we are convinced that this is only the question of time when fistball becomes recognizable and finally popular in our country. Many Polish sport's fans will have a chance to learn more about fistball thanks to The World Games. This event is organized in Wroclaw. The great benefit of The World Games is the fact that the first professional fistball court will be created in Poland. It may be the impulse to the development of this discipline in our country. In German, Austria and Switzerland it is more and more developing sport, that is why we strongly believe in its potential in our country. Accordingly, we made a decision about setting the first Polish club devoting to this discipline- The Polish Fistball Association. We are also the member of INTERNATIONAL FISTBALL ASSOCIATION which has been acting for almost 60 years and gathers 52 countries. The beginning of Polish Fistball Association started to function in 2017 however the attempts to create the first Polish club responsible for spreading the idea of fistball were taken the year before. Although, our team is just the beginner we have already got a chance to represent our country on the big international even such as European Championship, which took place in Grieskirchen last year. We ended up on the 7th place. We were eliminated in quarter- final by the leader- German team. Last year's experience showed that we are the team with a big potential and the only thing we need more is time spent together on the court. We aimed to represent our country well on the international events because we are aware that only our achievements may have great influence on the development of Fistball in Poland. I strongly believe that the cooperation with Polish Fistball Association may be beneficial for your company. We will do our best to achieve commercial success and sport's victory. If you are interested in becoming our busines partner please feel free to read more about our offer and build with us new discipline in Poland The History of Fistball Fistball is regarded as a one of the oldest sports discipline in the world- it was born in ancient Rome. The first note about it was seen in 240 but the rules were written in 1555 by Antonius Scaion. Fistball arrived to German in 1870 and players liked the idea so much that 24 years later they set down all the rules. They are valid up till now and the sport is gainig more and more popularity in Europe and in the whole world. Game rules Fistball is a team game which is combination of volleyball and tennis. Two teams with five players in each are present on the grass court. The court is 20X50 metres, divided by 2 metres- high tape and the players use 380 gramms leather ball. What is characteristic of the volleyball players must bounce the ball with the fist however it can touch the ground once as in tennis. Just before next touching, the player must pass the ball either to his/her player or to the opponent. Depending on the level of tournament there are from three to five sets up to 11 points. To win the set the team needs two points dominance or needs to score 15 points. Fistball around the world Fistball is the most popular sport in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. In those countries one can find both grass courts and fully equipped professional sports halls. This discipline is also practised in Asia, Africa, Australia and both Americas. What is even more interesting, The Fistball Chamion is found every year in Namibia. International Fistball Association (IFA) The International Fistball Association is the organization created 25th July 1960, gathering 52 countries. It's headquarter is located in Salsburg (Austria). Since 1968 World Male Championships have been organized and in 1994 in Buenos Aires the first Female Championships took place. It goes without saying that the German team is the leader in this discipline with their eleven gold medals. Since 1968 up till 1995 they have dominated in all events and also they hit the jackpot during the two last championships. The World Games 2017 Many Polish sport's fans will have a chance to learn more about fistball thanks to The World Games. This event is organized in Wroclaw. Among the leaders there are many European teams such as: Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The great benefit of The World Games is the fact that the first professional fistball court will be created in Poland. It may be the impulse to the development of this discipline in our country. About a club and Polish National Team Polish Fistball Association The beginning of Polish Fistball Association started to function in 2017 however the attempts to create the first Polish club responsible for spreading the idea of fistball were taken the year before. This new challenge is the initiative of people who are still present in the volleyball world, few players who have been playing professionally in Polish clubs or even Polish National Team for many years. In addition, the team is mostly created from people who are so committed to volleyball that would like to create in Poland the new history of new sports discipline such as fistball. Concerning the fact that we are the only fistball club in Poland we represent our country as a National Team. One of the strongest point of our team is the coach Karl Rick. He is professional whose experience will be invaluable in the process of creating our new team from basis. Moreover, his own achievements in fistball are impressive: • 45 performances in Austria National Team • 8 Austria Championships • 1 World Cup • 1 European Championship with Austria Team • 1 World Championship with Austria Team • 3 wins in Champions League • 2 x wins in IFA Cup • 7th place – European Championship (as a coach of Polish National Team) Being a coach of Polish Fistball National Team is a real honor. I am glad that this team has trusted me and my experience. I am convinced that if we act together we can create powerfull team able to compete with the best teams in Europe or even world. KARL RICK, The coach of Polish National Fistball Team Participation in the European Championship 2016 As a team we are very glad that we had a chance to check ourselves in Grieskirchen, especially knowing the fact that we played better and better. This year championship can be definitely regarded as a professionally organized event. We experienced here great fun, hospitality of fans and wonderful weather. We did our best here. Despite the fact, that we knew how hard it might be we put much efford in every single point on the court. It was our first event in fistball. Robert Szczerbaniuk, The Chairman of The Polish Fistball Assosiation Although, our team is just the beginner we have already got a chance to represent our country on the big international even such as European Championship, which took place in Grieskirchen last year. We ended up on the 7th place. We were eliminated in quarter- final by the leader- German team. Last year's experience showed that we are the team with a big potential and the only thing we need more is time spent together on the court. For the first time Female Fistball National Team is going to represent our country on the World Championship which takes place in Linz on 24th – 29th July 2018. However, Male Representation, which gets the debuty on the international field over, takes part in European Championship in Adelmannsfelden in Germany on 24 th- 28 th August 2018. Why is it worth to support us? As a Polish Fistball Association we decided to create this discipline from basis. It is sport with long tradition, very popular abroad. That is why we strongly believe that it has also potential in Poland however to make it possible we need support of sponsors and partners. We would like to point out some of benefits resulting from our cooperation. • This new challenge is the initiative of people who are still present in the volleyball world, few players who have been playing professionally in Polish clubs or even Polish National Team for many years.

WADA Technical Document for Sport Specific Analysis Version Number:4.03.1 Written By: TDSSA Expert Group Approved By: WADA Executive Committee Date: 145 November 20187 Effective Date: 1 January 20198 1. Introduction As part of WADA’s move towards ensuring Anti-Doping Organizations (ADOs) implement more intelligent and effective anti-doping programs, Article 5.4.1 of the 2015 World Anti-Doping Code (WADC2015) states – “WADA, in consultation with International Federations and other Anti-Doping Organizations, will adopt a Technical Document under the International Standard for Testing and Investigations (ISTI) that establishes by means of a risk assessment which Prohibited Substances and/or Prohibited Methods are most likely to be abused in particular sports and sports disciplines.” This Technical Document for Sport Specific Analysis (TDSSA) is intended to ensure that the Prohibited Substances and/or Prohibited Methods within the scope of the TDSSA and other tools that support the detection of Prohibited Substances and/or identify the Use of Prohibited Methods such as the Athlete Biological Passport are subject to an appropriate and consistent level of analysis and adoption by all ADOs that conduct Testing in those sports/disciplines deemed at risk. Compliance with the TDSSA is mandatory under the WADC2015. The development of the TDSSA is based on a scientific approach linking physiological and non- physiological demand of Athlete performance with the potential ergogenic benefit of those Prohibited Substances and/or Prohibited Methods within the scope of the TDSSA. The TDSSA complements other anti-doping tools and programs such as the Athlete Biological Passport (ABP), intelligence gathering and investigations.

  • Introduction Predictive Vs. Earned Ranking Methods
An overview of some methods for ranking sports teams Soren P. Sorensen University of Tennessee Knoxville, TN 38996-1200 [email protected] Introduction The purpose of this report is to argue for an open system for ranking sports teams, to review the history of ranking systems, and to document a particular open method for ranking sports teams against each other. In order to do this extensive use of mathematics is used, which might make the text more difficult to read, but ensures the method is well documented and reproducible by others, who might want to use it or derive another ranking method from it. The report is, on the other hand, also more detailed than a ”typical” scientific paper and discusses details, which in a scientific paper intended for publication would be omitted. We will in this report focus on NCAA 1-A football, but the methods described here are very general and can be applied to most other sports with only minor modifications. Predictive vs. Earned Ranking Methods In general most ranking systems fall in one of the following two categories: predictive or earned rankings. The goal of an earned ranking is to rank the teams according to their past performance in the season in order to provide a method for selecting either a champ or a set of teams that should participate in a playoff (or bowl games). The goal of a predictive ranking method, on the other hand, is to provide the best possible prediction of the outcome of a future game between two teams. In an earned system objective and well publicized criteria should be used to rank the teams, like who won or the score difference or a combination of both.

  • ADULT SPORTS FAQ's 1. What Are the Age Requirements for Participation in Adult Sports Programs?
ADULT SPORTS FAQ’s 1. What are the age requirements for participation in Adult Sports programs? Volleyball participants must be at least 16 years of age during the season in order to be eligible. Basketball, Dodgeball, Flag-Football, and Softball participants must be at least 18 years of age during the season in order to be eligible. The age difference in adult sports programs is due to the potential level of physical contact during league play. 2. Are uniforms required in team sports participation? Team uniforms are not required for our volleyball or softball leagues. Basketball, Dodgeball, and Flag-Football teams, however, must wear same color shirts with permanent numbers placed on the back. All teams provide their own equipment. Game balls are provided only in the softball program. 3. Why are the fees so high for the adult leagues? League fees are used to pay for scorekeepers, staffing, facility maintenance and equipment. Awards are also given to the top two teams in each division. Compared to other communities, our fees are still considerably affordable. YOUTH SPORTS FAQ’s 1. What are the age requirements for participation in Youth Sports programs? Children learn at various stages and must learn all the skills necessary before advancing to a higher level. It is recommended that participants sign up according to the grade or age limit assigned to a particular program. The Instructor may then recommend a participant to be moved to a more advanced level if the participant is physically and cognitively ready. 2. My child will meet the proper age limit in a couple of months.

  • Wilson Ball Cleaning Recommendations
What chemicals can clean our game balls without altering performance? Our primary recommendation is to follow CDC, state and local guidelines for health and safety. The following widely accepted definitions are relevant to composite leather, PU leather, and leather game ball care (CDC reference): There are several different methods for sanitizing and disinfecting composite leather, PU leather, and leather game product. Each customer should utilize the method that fits their health and safety protocols and the playing environment and timing needs. Simple Game Ball Cleaning Method To clean the ball, players may wish to use dish soap and water. While this practice may be likened to hand washing, note that all soap residue must be rinsed away and that drying time on each ball product may vary. An example cleaning regimen with soap and water includes: 1. Add 1 tablespoon of mild dish soap into a 1-gallon container. 2. Fill bucket with warm water, until a soapy mixture is formed. 3. Wet a first towel with the solution, wring out excess water, and gently wipe down entire product surface for at least 30 seconds. 4. Re-wet towel with plain warm water, wring out excess water, and wipe off excess soap from ball surface. 5. Rub a second, dry towel on the surface to wipe and dry off. 6. Let product air out overnight. Quick Turn Leather Game Ball Cleaning Method To clean the ball with faster turnaround times, we reference the following recommendations. The CDC released a list (referred to as ‘List N’) of effective disinfectants for disabling SARS-CoV-2 (i.e., the virus that causes Covid-19 disease) on hard, nonporous surfaces.

  • Overview of Field Hockey Positions to Start With, Field Hockey Positions Can Be Broken Into Three Different Groups: Offensive, Defensive and Midfield
Overview of Field Hockey Positions To start with, field hockey positions can be broken into three different groups: offensive, defensive and midfield. The offense are traditionally the left and right wings and the centre forward, although having players set into these positions is relatively uncommon in recent years, and offensive players will usually rotate through the wings and centre positions during the game. The midfield in field hockey are the inside-left and inside-right (inners) positions, and the centre half. They will roam the field and are used to link the defense with the offense, and are often required and expected to do a lot of running to make this happen! The defensive line up consists of the left and right halfbacks, two fullbacks and goalkeeper. Unlike their striker counterparts, the half line will usually stay in their allotted positions, and might only move from right to left to cover injury or substitution. The left and right halfbacks will focus on defending against the wingers and wide strikers, although the half-line is also used in attacking situations, but are vulnerable to counter-attacks if they do run upfield. The fullbacks will invariably stay in the defensive half of the field, although they can venture into the midfield or forward positions if there is room and opportunity to do so. There are traditionally a high and low fullback in field hockey – one who will mark the opposition centre-forward or striker, and the other will mark any roving or break-away players. The goalkeeper will usually stay within the goal-circle, which is the only place they are allowed to use their body to play the ball.
