Help us restore our pipe organ.

We have purchased a 1923 E.M. Skinner pipe organ from a church that recently closed in Delaware. We have raised roughly $200,000 in cash and pledges for this project, and expect the total project to cost $750,000. If you are interested in making a contribution, please contact Nolan Patrick Reilly, Director of Music, at 405-321- 0990 or [email protected].

Anthem John Gardner shall be my dancing day. I would my true love did so chance to see the legend of my play, to call my true love to my dance. Sing, O my love, O my love, my love, my love, this have I done for my true love. Then I was born of a virgin pure, of her I took fleshly substance, thus was I knit to man's nature, to call my true love to my dance. Sing, O my love, O my love, my love, my love, this have I done for my true love. In a laid and wrapped I was, so very poor this was my chance, betwixt an ox and a silly poor ass, to call my true love to my dance. Sing, O my love, O my love, my love, my love, this have I done for my true love. Then afterwards baptized I was, the Holy Ghost on me did glance, my Father's voice heard from above, to call my true love to my dance. Sing, O my love, O my love, my love, my love, this have I done for my true love.

Aria Adolphe Adam O holy night! The stars are brightly shining, it is the night of our dear Savior’s birth. Long lay the world, in sin and error pining, ‘til he appeared and the soul felt its worth. A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices, for yonder breaks a new and glorious morn. Fall on your knees! O hear the voices! O Night Divine, O Night when Christ was born. Truly He taught us to love one another, His law is love and His gospel is peace. Chains may He break for the slave is our brother; and in His Name all oppression shall cease. Sweet hymns of joy, in grateful chorus raise we, and all within us praise His holy name. Christ is the Lord! His name forever praise we, Noel, Noel, O Night Divine.

Anthem Herbert Howells A spotless Rose is blowing sprung from a tender root, of ancient seers' foreshowing, of Jesse promised fruit; its fairest bud unfolds to light amid the cold, cold winter and in the dark midnight. The Rose which I am singing, whereof Isaiah said, is from its sweet root springing in Mary, purest Maid; for through our God's great love and might the blessed babe bare us in a cold, cold winter's night.

Mass in the Holy Night

¶ Remain seated.

Christmas Proclamation The twenty-fifth day of December, when ages beyond number had run their course from the creation of the world when God in the beginning created heaven and earth, and formed man in his own likeness; when century upon century had passed since the Almighty set his bow in the clouds after the Great Flood, as a sign of covenant and peace; in the twenty-first century since Abraham, our father in faith, came out of the Ur of the Chaldees; in the thirteenth century since the People of Israel were led by Moses in the Exodus from Egypt; around the thousandth year since David was anointed King; in the sixty-fifth week of the prophecy of Daniel: in the one hundred and ninety-fourth Olympiad, in the year seven hundred and fifty-two since the foundation of the Rome, in the forty-second year of the reign of Caesar Octavian Augustus, the whole world being at peace, JESUS CHRIST, eternal God and Son of the eternal Father, desiring to consecrate the world by his most loving presence, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and when nine months had passed since his conception, was born of the Virgin Mary in of Judah, and was made man: The Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ according to the flesh.

Penitential Act Missa Pacem, L. R. Babin

Gloria The Collegiate Mass, Nolan Patrick Reilly

Collect O God, who have made this most sacred night radiant with the splendor of the true light, grant, we pray, that we, who have known the mysteries of his light on earth, may also delight in his gladness in heaven. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

¶ The people sit.

First Reading The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; upon those who dwelt in the land of gloom a light has shone. You have brought them abundant joy and great rejoicing, as they rejoice before you as at the harvest, as people make merry when dividing spoils. For the yoke that burdened them, the pole on their shoulder, and the rod of their taskmaster you have smashed, as on the day of Midian. For every boot that tramped in battle, every cloak rolled in blood, will be burned as fuel for flames. For a child is born to us, a son is given us; upon his shoulder dominion rests. They name him Wonder-Counselor, God-, Father-Forever, Prince of Peace. His dominion is vast and forever peaceful, from David’s throne, and over his kingdom, which he confirms and sustains by judgment and justice, both now and forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this!

Responsory Verses by Charles Villiers Stanford, Antiphon by Nolan Patrick Reilly

1. O sing a new song to the Lord; sing to the Lord, all the earth. O sing to the Lord; bless his name.

2. Proclaim his salvation day by day. Tell among the nations his glory. And his wonders among all the peoples.

3.Let the heavens rejoice and earth be glad; let the sea and all within it thunder praise. Let the land and all it bears rejoice. Then will all the trees of the wood shout for joy.

Second Reading Beloved: The grace of God has appeared, saving all and training us to reject godless ways and worldly desires and to live temperately, justly, and devoutly in this age, as we await the blessed hope, the appearance of the glory of our great God and savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to deliver us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for himself a people as his own, eager to do what is good.

¶ The people stand.

Gospel Acclamation Tone VI, arr. Oliver H. Douberly III

V. I proclaim to you good news of great joy: today a Savior is born for us. Christ the Lord.

Gospel Reading In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that the whole world should be enrolled. This was the first enrollment, when Quirinius was governor of Syria. So all went to be enrolled, each to his own town. And Joseph too went up from Galilee from the town of Nazareth to Judea, to the city of David that is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, to be enrolled with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child. While they were there, the time came for her to have her child, and she gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Now there were shepherds in that region living in the fields and keeping the night watch over their flock. The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were struck with great fear. The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Christ and Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

Homily The Reverend James Aubrey Goins

The Creed I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven,

The people kneel. and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.

The people stand.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

¶ The people sit.

Offertory Anthem Tomás Luis de Victoria O great mystery, and wonderful sacrament, that animals should see the newborn Lord, lying in a manger! Blessed is the virgin whose womb was worthy to bear the Lord, Jesus Christ. Alleluia!

Communion Chant All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God. O sing to the Lord a new song, of he who has done marvelous things. All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God.

Communion Motet Edgar Pettmann Sing , lullaby baby, now reclining, sing lullaby. Hush, do not wake the Infant King. Angels are watching, stars are shining over the place where he is lying, sing lullaby. Sing lullaby, lullaby baby, now a-sleeping, sing lullaby. Hush, do not wake the Infant King. Soon will come sorrow with the morning, soon will come bitter grief and weeping, sing lullaby. Sing lullaby, lullaby baby, now a-dozing, sing lullaby. Hush, do not wake the Infant King. Soon comes the cross, the nails, the piercing, then in the grave at last reposing, sing lullaby. Sing lullaby, lullaby, is the babe a-waking? Sing lullaby. Hush, do not stir the Infant King. Dreaming of Easter, gladsome morning conquering Death, its bondage breaking, sing lullaby.

Prayer after Communion Grant, we pray, O Lord, our God, that we, who are gladdened by participation in the feast of our Redeemer's Nativity, may through an honorable way of life become worthy of un- ion with him. Who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.

Solemn Blessing May the God of infinite goodness, who by the Incarnation of his Son has driven darkness from the world and by that glorious Birth has illumined this most holy night, drive far from you the darkness of vice and illumine your hearts with the light of virtue. Amen.

May God, who willed that the great joy of his Son's saving Birth be announced to shepherds by the Angel, fill your minds with the gladness he gives and make you heralds of his Gospel. Amen.

And may God, who by the Incarnation brought together the earthly and heavenly realm, fill you with the gift of his peace and favor and make you sharers with the Church in heaven. Amen.
