Led by Gulliver Prep’s star coaches, campers can focus each week on one sport and learn its skills and fundamentals in a fun-filled environment. Boys and girls are grouped by age and enjoy games and activities at just the right level of challenge.

Please Note: Updated immunization forms (Form DH 680 and DH 3040) must be submitted prior to the first day of camp. These forms can be obtained by your pediatrician and must be a Florida issued form.

All programs are subject to sufficient enrollment and limited space. Please choose carefully as registration is non-refundable. BASEBALL CAMP INFORMATION

Campers will get the opportunity to work with Gulliver players and coaches on the fundamentals of baseball. Each day campers will learn through base running, ground balls, fly balls, hitting, pitching, and catching to help players increase their skill level. In addition to skill and drill stations, campers will have the opportunity to play games, which will help increase the skills taught during camp. This fun environment provides opportunities to improve game speed skills and practice game situations.

Isaac Tijerino has been a part of the Gulliver Prep Baseball program since 2011 and has been the Head Coach for the Middle School team since 2012. Known to the Gulliver community as Coach T, he’s led the Middle School team to 3 South Florida Middle School Conference Championships along with the school’s first undefeated season in 2018. Coach T has also been the Head JV Coach at the Upper School since 2019 and is an Assistant Varsity Coach as well. BASKETBALL CAMP INFORMATION Our camp is designed to be a basketball skills development camp and will focus on the fundamentals of passing, ball handling, shooting, defense, and rebounding by working with our Gulliver Prep basketball coaches. Campers will be divided according to grade and ability, and will have the opportunity to become better basketball players through individual contests and competitive team play.

Gary DeCesare recently completed his second season as the Varsity Boys’ Basketball Head Coach at Gulliver Prep. Coach DeCesare came to Miami after coaching for 10 years in Chicago at St. Rita High School. While there, he led the Mustangs to four consecutive Catholic League Championships (2012-2014) and six out of ten. He also led them to four Regional Championships. Coach DeCesare brings to Gulliver Prep a wealth of experience at both the collegiate and high school levels. He served as Associate Head Coach at DePaul University for four years as well as three seasons as Assistant Basketball Coach at the University of Richmond. Prior to coaching at the collegiate level, he spent 16 seasons as the Head Varsity Basketball Coach at St. Raymond High School in the Bronx. He led St. Raymond to two New York State Championships and four City Championships while being named the New York City and State Coach of the Year four times. The Ravens were regularly a National Top 25 team and traveled to tournaments all across the country. Coach DeCesare was previously the Head Coach for the 2017 McDonald’s All-American game and the Head Coach for the 2015 Jordan Brand Classic. He has produced over 50 Division I players, including three McDonald’s High School All-Americans, and has been a Director for the prestigious ABCD Basketball Camp. Coach DeCesare’s family includes his wife, Pam, twin boys, Gary and TJ, and daughter, Amanda. BASKETBALL SKILLS CAMP INFORMATION

Gulliver Prep Basketball Skills Camp is designed for the more experienced basketball player looking to advance their positional fundamentals. This summer skill camp will focus on player development, position skill work, speed and agility, ball handling, and shooting.

Jay Zambolla began his career as the Varsity Boys’ Basketball Head Coach at Miami Palmetto Senior High School in 2002. During his four years there, he led the team to two District Championships. In 2008, he became the Varsity Girls’ Basketball Head Coach at Gulliver Prep. Since his arrival, the team has won 11 District Championships, one Regional Championship in 2014, and participated in seven Regional Finals. In addition to helping 27 student athletes earn college scholarships, he was named Miami Herald’s Coach of the Year in 2009 and 2014. FLAG FOOTBALL CAMP INFORMATION

Campers will work with an excellent and experienced coaching staff that will provide each camper with a new outlook on football by focusing on the fundamentals of the game. These fundamentals will be applied through non-contact drills and reinforced with flag football games.

Earl Sims has led Gulliver Prep’s football program for the last 15 seasons. He played linebacker for the University of Virginia from 1997-2001. Over his coaching career, Coach Sims has received honors including being chosen as the 2008 Herald Sports Coach of the Year and 2008 Gulliver Preparatory Coach of the Year, and was nominated for the 2011-2012 Bill Yoast Award. During the 2019 and 2020 seasons Coach Sims led the Raiders to a 15-12 record, including 2 undefeated regular seasons, a first in school history, and a South Florida Conference Championship. In 2020, he earned the Miami Dolphins High School Head Coach of the Year. SOCCER CAMP INFORMATION

Campers will work with our renowned Boys’ and Girls’ Varsity Head Coaches to improve and develop their soccer skills while having fun! Throughout the summer, players will receive technical and tactical training, fundamental development, team play skills, and exciting game experiences.

Chi-Chi Nwadike is the Girls’ Varsity Soccer Head Coach at Gulliver Prep. Coach Nwadike has been playing soccer since the age of 4 and is a Gulliver alumnus. He studied Microbiology, Immunology, and Exercise Physiology at the University of Miami, and Psychology at Florida International University. In his 14 years of coaching both boys and girls, Coach Nwadike has helped win ten District Championships (‘05, ‘06, ‘07, ‘08, ‘10, ‘11, ‘12, ‘13, ‘14, ‘16), four Regional Championships (‘06, ‘11, ‘13, ‘14), one FHSAA State Runner-up (‘13) and three FHSAA State Championships (‘06, ‘11, ‘14). ELITE SOCCER CAMP INFORMATION Elite Soccer is hosting its first ever evening summer camp! Led by Director of Coaching, Anna Butzlaff, campers will train in a high intensity, fast-paced and competitive environment. Raider Elite Soccer Camp is designed for individuals eager to improve and excited to prepare for their upcoming soccer seasons. With a curriculum built to challenge players technically, tactically, physically, and psychologically, campers can expect to become more confident, aware, and well-rounded soccer players. The camp staff consists of several highly knowledgeable and experienced on-field coaches, a goalie specific coach, and a speed and agility coach. In addition, each session will be recorded with an AI Powered, high-definition, soccer camera allowing coaches to provide specific and valuable day-to-day player feedback.

Anna Butzlaff is the Director of Coaching for the Raider Elite Soccer Club as well as the Boys’ Middle School Varsity Head Coach. Coach Butzlaff grew up as a multi-sport athlete in the Midwest playing basketball, soccer, softball, and running cross-country. As a youth soccer player, she played as an attacking center midfielder for Wisconsin’s top competitive club program, FC Milwaukee. Her team went on to win 8 consecutive State Championships. In addition, Coach Butzlaff led her high school team to a State Championship and was invited to several Olympic Development Team Camps. She later accepted a scholarship to play Division 1 soccer at the University of Memphis. The Lady Tigers were ranked top 10 in the country in each of her seasons with the team. While still in college, Coach Butzlaff began coaching competitive youth soccer and has continued to for more than decade. She has coached for clubs in Wisconsin, Indiana, Tennessee, California, and Florida, and previously served as the Director of Coaching for South Florida FC and Soccer 5 United. Coach Butzlaff is also the Founder and Director of Coaching for Urban Prestige FC, a program committed to developing players from all walks of life with a specialization in small-sided competitive soccer. Lastly, she is currently the Florida Director of the 3v3 LIVE National Soccer Tour, a highly competitive and nationally recognized 3v3 soccer tournament circuit. SOFTBALL CAMP INFORMATION

Campers will work with our experienced coaching staff who will provide an enhanced outlook on softball by focusing on the fundamentals of the game. These fundamentals will be applied through various drills, which will include hitting, fielding and pitching.

Frank Gabriele is a well-established softball coach known for helping student-athletes successfully develop their skills throughout the years. He has been coaching fastpitch softball club teams in South Florida for the past 19 years, winning several titles at the local, state, and national levels. He continues to prepare and develop student-athletes who have been, or will go on to play, at the collegiate level.

STEVE HAGER SOFTBALL COACH

Steve Hager has more than 30 years of experience coaching softball in South Florida, including eight years as the Assistant Coach at Gulliver Prep. Twenty-five of those years he was the President and Board Member of the Homestead Little League. As an Assistant Softball Coach and hitting specialist he has won one State Title, one State Runner-Up, and 18 District Titles at Colonial Christian, Palmetto, and Gulliver Prep. Over the last 21 years, he has been heavily involved in the South Florida softball travel scene and has helped place 35 student-athletes at the NCAA level. Coach Hager also spent a total of 8 years as the Principal at Colonial Christian and Cutler Ridge Academy. VOLLEYBALL CAMP INFORMATION

Campers will learn fundamental and advanced volleyball skills, discover new strategies, and experience team play through fun and developmental activities. Together, players will learn and improve their serving, passing, setting, attacking, blocking, and individual defense skills, as well as team offensive and defensive systems.

Ed Potter is a Florida native, has been coaching volleyball for 22 years, and is currently the Varsity Volleyball Head Coach for Gulliver Prep. He received the Gulliver Prep Assistant Coach of the Year in 2009 for his work with Gulliver JV Volleyball and received the Girls’ Head Coach of the Year award in 2011 for his work with Gulliver Varsity Volleyball. Coach Potter was the Head Coach for the 2010 USA Beach Volleyball 14U National Champions, was the Southern College Assistant Beach Coach in 2018 and 2019, and has been involved in coaching club volleyball for over 20 years. He has a Beach Coaching accreditation and Impact and Indoor Coach accreditation from USA Volleyball, and is trained in the Gold Medal Volleyball System. WATER POLO CAMP INFORMATION

Our campers will receive instruction from Gulliver’s Varsity Water Polo team coaches. Together, campers will condition with swimming and exercise as well as learn the fundamentals of the game. In addition, they will learn proper throwing and shooting techniques, defensive body positioning, and watch game film.

Carroll Vaughan is the Boys’ and Girls’ Varsity Water Polo Head Coach at Gulliver Prep, as well as the Head Coach and President of the Miami Riptides Aquatic Club. Coach Vaughan was previously honored with the Olympic Development Program (ODP) Regional Coach of the Year award for her outstanding leadership. She also received the 2018 Outstanding Coach Award for the Southeast Region for the Miami Riptides when the club achieved first place finishes in five different age groups. She was then awarded Miami Herald Boys’ Coach of the Year and Dairy Farmer Boys’ Water Polo Coach of the Year in 2019. She has led the Gulliver Varsity Boys’ Water Polo team to an FHSAA State Championships in 2012, 2014, 2019 and a Final Four Berth in 2017.
