The event has become a firmly established speed event in the motor sport calendar (the event was previously run solely by York Motor Club at Elvington and latterly Teesside Autodrome, from 2005 to 2014), with great emphasis placed on a friendly, relaxed, yet competitive event, offering superb value for money and an enjoyable day's motorsport, which the Keith Pattison Memorial Sprint has gained an excellent reputation for over the last 15 years or so it has been run. The event is named in memory of Keith Pattison, one of York Motor Club's longstanding members who sadly passed away in 2006, following a short illness. Keith was a regular competitor in sprints and many other types of motorsport. The overall Best Time of the Day Award is the Keith Pattison Memorial Trophy, kindly donated by Keith's widow, Barbara Pattison. Regular competitors will note that this year, we have made a significant date change, from our normal late May Bank Holiday weekend to Sunday 21st June. This date change is for several reasons – firstly, to get away from an already ‘crowded’ speed calendar in May – early June, and secondly, by holding the event in late June, we will benefit from slightly longer daylight hours, and hopefully slightly warmer weather too! Additionally, after 4 years of using the ‘Eastern’ Circuit, we have decided to run on the faster and challenging ‘Outer’ Circuit. York Motor Club and Huddersfield Motor Club are keen to continue the existing excellent working relationship with Ginetta and will once again be awarding the Blyton Park Novice Trophy to the best novice. Additionally, we will be awarding the ‘Jim Kilmartin Trophy’ (for the best prepared competition car), in memory of our former Chief Scrutineer, Jim Kilmartin, who sadly passed away in 2019. We are pleased to welcome competitors from the ANWCC Sprint Championship 2020, Liverpool Motor Club Speed Championship 2020, Longton Northern Speed Championship 2020 and Triple M / Pirelli NSCC Speed Championship 2020, as well as competitors in clubs in the ANCC, ANECCC, ANWCC and EMAMC. We are keen to ensure that in this current economic climate the event remains cost effective for club level competitors and consequently, we have kept the entry fee as low as possible, at £120 (to include a contribution to marshals' prizes) – however, we have had to make a small increase in the entry fee this year to reflect the increased fees imposed upon us by Motorsport UK. However, we will be offering a special reduced entry fee of £115.00 for York Motor Club or Huddersfield Motor Club members (who have been fully paid up members of either Motor Club for 3 months prior to the event). In 2019 competitors had two practice and eight timed runs on a fantastic, competitive circuit, with excellent facilities - including cafe, changing rooms/toilets and overnight camping / caravanning. Once again, we are offering online entries, in addition to traditional methods. We welcome the support of a number of sponsors who have kindly assisted us financially. Please show your appreciation by using these local businesses where possible, as without their kind assistance, we could not have kept the entry fee so low. Their details are within these regulations. To ensure our competitors get plenty of runs, the number of entries is limited to 75 competitors plus 5 reserves and entries will be on a first-come-first-served basis. Additionally, all entries received before Sunday 17th May 2020 will go into a free prize draw and the winner will receive half their entry fee back - an opportunity not to be missed! We hope to see you on the day!
