Championship Contacts APPENDICES A – BTCC Medical Information Sheet B – Championship / Race Entry Form C – Compulsory Championship Decal Layout 2019 GINETTA JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP 1 SPORTING REGULATIONS - GENERAL 1.1 Title & Jurisdiction 1.1.1 The 2019 Michelin GINETTA JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP is organised and administered by the British Automobile Racing Club Ltd (BARC) on behalf of Commercial Rights Holder Ginetta Cars Ltd in accordance with the General Regulations of the Royal Automobile Club Motor Sports Association (incorporating the provisions of the International Sporting Code of the FiA) and these Championship Regulations. The Organisers reserve the right to issue additional statements clarifying items in the rules and regulations and all such statements will be issued to all registered drivers by posting to the address details or email details on the Registration form. 1.1.2 Motorsport UK Championship Permit No: CH2019 / RYD002 Race Status: National B Motorsport UK Championship Grade: C 1.1.3 Officials: Championship Coordinator: Ashley Gallagher Ginetta Cars Ltd Licenced Eligibility Scrutineer: Clive Greves BARC Championship Stewards: Dennis Carter BARC Pat Blakeney BARC Dale Wells BARC Guy Woodward BARC Any three of the above may reach a decision. Championship Clerks of the Course: Andy Butler BARC 1.2 Competitor Eligibility 1.2.1 Drivers and Entrant / Drivers must be a minimum of 14 years of age prior to competing in their first race of the Ginetta Junior Championship. Drivers who reach the age of 17 during the racing season (1st Jan 2019 to 31st Dec 2019) may continue to take part in all rounds of the Championship for the remainder of that season. 1.2.2 A competitor shall not take time off school to participate in motorsport without the prior written approval of their school. If participation in the Championship requires absence from school, drivers in full-time school education are required to have the approval of their Head Teacher and a letter stating such approval from the school in order to fulfil Registration for the Championship. 1.2.3 Entrants must be fully paid up valid membership card holding members of the BARC and in possession of a valid 2019 Motorsport UK Entrants Licences and Registered with the Organisers as Entrants in accordance with these Championship Regulations. 1.2.4 Where there is no officially licensed entrant the Parent / Legal Guardian or other delegated representative of the driver will assume the role of an Entrant [Motorsport UK General Regulation H27] for all purposes under these Championship Regulations and must be present with the driver at all times. 1.2.5 Where there is a Team that is responsible for preparation of a Competitor’s vehicle but that Team is not an Entrant as provided by the Motorsport UK General Regulations nonetheless such Team shall be accountable under these Regulations as though it were an Entrant but subject only to Article 1.2.4 of these Championship Regulations in relation to the Driver. 1.2.6 Drivers must be fully paid up valid membership card holding Racing Members of the BARC and must be Registered for the 2019 Championship and must be in possession of one of the following licences: (i) A valid Motorsport UK Competition (Car Racing) licence endorsed “Junior Formulae only” and valid for this Championship. (ii) A junior race licence issued by Motorsport Ireland. 1.2.7 All necessary documentation must be presented to the Organisers for checking at all rounds when signing-on. 1.2.8 It is a condition of Registration that any Motorsport UK ‘Junior’ race licence will be held by the BARC for the duration of Registration in this championship. 1.2.9 Any driver wishing to compete in other ‘Junior’ formulae must make a temporary or permanent arrangement with the BARC for the transfer of their licence to the person or body responsible for holding the licences on behalf of that formula and vice-versa. 1.2.10 Only those cars complying with the 2019 Technical Regulations for the Championship and / or any amendments to the Technical Regulations issued from time to time by way of an official Championship Bulletin in accordance with Motorsport UK Regulation D11.1 will be allowed to compete in any round of the Championship. 1.2.11 Entrants/Drivers must ensure that their cars comply with the conditions of eligibility and safety throughout qualifying and racing. At any time during an Event, the Championship Clerk of the Course can require a Driver to have a medical examination by the BTCC Medical Adviser or his/her nominee. 1.3 Registration 1.3.1 All Entrants and /or Teams and all driver competitors must register for the Championship by returning the applicable Registration Form in full to the Coordinator. Registrations are accepted on a “first come first served basis” but always subject to Articles 1.3.7 and 1.3.8 of and these Sporting Regulations. 1.3.2 The Drivers Registration Form must be completed in full, signed by the driver, and if applicable countersigned by the Entrant / Team and be accompanied by the Drivers Registration Fee in full, in order to be considered. The Drivers Registration Form must also be counter signed by the Parent or Legal Guardian of the driver. 1.3.3 The Entrant’s / Team Registration Form must be completed in full and be signed by an authorised person being a Director in the case of a Limited Liability Company or a partner or sole principal where applicable . 1.3.4 The acceptance or rejection of a Registration application will be based upon the information given on the Registration Form. It is therefore a condition of Registration that drivers Entrants and Teams accept that the Organisers reserves the right to reject Championship Registration Applications and / or entries to individual events by any applicant for Championship Registration without giving reasons [Motorsport UK General Regulation H30.1.3(b) applies]. 1.3.5 The Drivers Registration Fee is £16,550 plus VAT per driver. Cheques should be made payable to Ginetta Cars Ltd. This Registration fee is fully inclusive of entry fees to all rounds of the Championship Official Friday test days timing fees and medical provision. This fee is payable in full by all competitors prior to the 30th March 2019. Entry fees may not be paid by account. 1.3.6 The Drivers Registration Fee is inclusive of BARC membership. 1.3.7 A Registration once made and accepted shall constitute a legally binding contract and a Registration may only be withdrawn without penalty with the mutual consent of both parties. An Entrant or driver whose Registration is accepted and who otherwise fails to participate in the Championship shall forfeit their Registration fees in their entirety. 1.3.8 The Organisers may accept or refuse any Registration and withdraw or revoke a Registration at any time should the continued Registration of the competitor or Entrant or Team be deemed in the Organisers absolute discretion not to be in the best interests of the Championship or the Championship Commercial Regulations. 1.3.9 Registrations will be accepted from 1st December 2017 until further notice. A maximum of 30 Registrations will be accepted for entry into the Championship on a first come first in accordance with Articles 1.3.1 and 1.3.7 of these Sporting Regulations. Any Registrations received after the first 30 accepted by the Organiser in writing will may be held as entry reserves for the Championship at the sole discretion of the Organisers. 1.3.10 Registration numbers will be the permanent Competition numbers for the Championship and will be allocated by the Coordinator. Numbers 1 through 10 are reserved for Championship Organisers use and will be allocated to returning drivers. Number 40 is reserved for Championship Organisers use and may not be assigned by anyone other than the Coordinator. 1.3.11 Guest Competitors may be permitted to make guest appearances at the sole discretion of the Organisers and subject to such conditions as they may stipulate from time to time but subject to meeting the licence requirements of Sporting Regulation 1.2. As a condition of Registration and entry, no guest driver is able to score points or be awarded prize money in the Championship. At the discretion of the Organisers and Ginetta Cars Ltd the driver of any Guest Competitor entered in this way need not comply with the membership requirements of regulation 1.2.3. The Registration form must be completed but the payment of the Registration fee specified in regulation 1.3.4 is waived. Otherwise, all regulations of the Championship must be observed. 1.3.11By Registering for the Championship all Competitors and Entrants and Teams and their associates commit to the Motorsport UK Race ‘n’ Respect campaign and agree to positively promote and demonstrate the Racing Code which is appended to these regulations as well to perform and uphold the Technical and Commercial Regulations. 1.4 Medical 1.4.1 A BTCC Medical Information Sheet (see Appendix A) must be completed and returned to the BTCC Medical Adviser via the Championship Organisers, at least 7 (seven) days prior to the first event or Ginetta Cars official test day in which a Driver intends to compete.
