ATHLETE GUIDE SCREW CITY DUATHLON JULY 25, 2021 ** IMPORTANT ** Any Athlete that is sick, having symptoms, having health related issues, has been recently sick, or is not comfortable racing this event PLEASE DO NOT RACE. Any Athlete not participating within the COVID-19 safety guidelines or RACE safety rules, will be removed from the course and no refund will be provided. This Event has been permitted by the City of Loves Park, approved by the Winnebago County Health Department, and approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health. The Winnebago County Health Department has determined this Event to be a low risk and a minimal public health concern if oversight is enforced. RockRiver Multisport has developed this AthletEc Guide for the safety of all participants and to mitigate the spread and transmission of COVID-19. There will be active enforcement of ALL safety guidelines to maintain our approval to hold this event. SATURDAY JULY 24, 2021 PEAK SPORTS CLUB 4401 PEAK DRIVE LOVES PARK IL 10:30 AM – NOON * OUTSIDE IN ROCKRIVER MULTISPORT TENT 4. SUNDAY JULY 25, 2021 PEAK SPORTS CLUB 4401 PEAK DRIVE LOVES PARK IL 6AM – 7AM * OUTSIDE IN ROCKRIVER MULTISPORT TENT PACKET PICKUP RULES: 1. SOCIAL DISTANCING RULES WILL BE IN PLACE – 6 FT DISTANCE WHILE IN LINE. 2. EACH PARTICIPANT MUST WEAR A MASK OR FACE COVERING. 3. EACH PARTICIPANT WILL RECEIVE THE FOLLOWING IN THEIR PACKET: - COVID QUESTIONNAIRE - COVID AND SAFETY WAIVER - USAT RETURN TO RACING CHECKLIST - RACE NUMBER BIB WITH DISPOSABLE CHIP - T-SHIRT 5. REQUIRED - PARTICIPANTS MUST READ AND SIGN THE COVID SAFETY WAIVER 6. REQUIRED - PARTICIPANTS MUST BRING THE COMPLETED COVID QUESTIONNAIRE TO THE RACE ON RACE DAY – SEE EVENT SCHEDULE STEP # 6 7. RACE BIB WILL HAVE A LABEL ON IT LISTING: - TRANSITION SETUP TIME - WAVE START TIME - WAVE # 8. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU FOLLOW YOUR DESIGNATED TIMES – SEE EVENT SCHEDULE FOR DETAILS. 7. SOCIAL DISTANCING WILL BE ENFORCED. RRM VOLUTEER WILL WEAR A MASK AND GLOVES. EVENT DAY SCHEDULE ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO SOCIAL DISTANCE AND WEAR FACE MASKS BEFORE AND AFTER THE RACE START – IN ALL RACE/EVENT AREAS. 1. 6:00AM – RACE AREA OPENS FOR RACE DAY PACKET PICKUP. 2. THERE IS NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION. 3. 6:30AM – TRANSITION OPENS TO ATHLETES ONLY 6:30AM-6:45AM – TRANSITION SETUP FOR WAVE #1 6:45AM-7:00AM – TRANSITION SETUP FOR WAVE #2 7:00AM-7:15AM – TRANSITION SETUP FOR WAVE #3 7:15AM-7:30AM – TRANSITION SETUP FOR WAVE #4 7:30AM-7:45AM – TRANSITION SETUP FOR WAVE #5 – IF NEEDED * ONLY ATHLETES WILL BE ALLOWED IN TRANSITION. THIS WILL BE STRICKLY ENFORCED * 4. 7:00AM – PACKET PICKUP CLOSES 5. REQUIRED - REPORT TO TRANSITION AT YOUR PREDETERMINED SETUP TIME. 6. REQUIRED - YOU MUST BRING YOUR SIGNED COVID QUESTIONNAIRE TO THE TRANSITION SETUP/CHECKIN AND TURN IT INTO THE ROCKRIVER MULTISPORT RACE OFFICIAL TO ENTER TRANSITION. 7. REQUIRED - A ROCKRIVER MULTISPORT RACE OFFICIAL, WITH GUIDANCE PROVIDED BY OSF ST. ANTHONY HOSPITAL, WILL PERFORM A TEMPERATURE CHECK ON ALL PARTICIPANTS BEFORE ALLOWING PARTICIPANT INTO TRANSITION. 8. ANY PARTICIPANT WITH A TEMERATURE OVER 100 DEGREES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPANT IN THE EVENT. 9. AFTER TRANSITION SETUP, ATHLETES ARE REQUIRED TO EXIT THE TRANSITION ON THE FAR EAST SIDE OF TRANSTION. AFTER EXITING TRANSITION, ATHLETES ARE REQUIRED TO PRACTICE SAFE SOCIAL DISTANCING – ADHERING TO ALL GUIDANCE - AND NOT TO GROUP AS THEY WAIT FOR THEIR START TIME. 10. 7:50AM OR 10 MINUTES BEFORE RACE START PARTICIPANTS REPORT TO WAVE START AREA THAT CORRESPONDS TO THEIR WAVE START NUMBER ON THEIR BIB. 11. 8:00AM – RACE START TIME (OR AS CLOSE TO THIS TIME AS POSSIBLE). WAVES WILL START EVERY 3-4 MINUTES. THIS WILL GET PARTICIPANTS ONTO THE COURSE, CREATING DISTANCE BETWEEN EACH WAVE. 8:00AM – WAVE #1 START 8:04AM – WAVE #2 START 8:08AM – WAVE #3 START 8:12AM – WAVE #4 START 8:16AM – WAVE #5 START 12. STARTING THE RACE - EACH WAVE WILL BE CALLED TO THE START-LINE AREA IN 4 MINUTE WAVES. A. ONCE IN THE START LINE AREA, YOU MAY REMOVE YOUR FACE MASK. B. DO NOT DISCARD YOUR MASK – PLACE IT IN YOUR POCKET OR WAIST-BAND. C. WHEN THE START HORN SOUNDS, ATHLETES WILL PROCEED UNDER THE ARCH AND ONTO THE RACE COURSE. D. YOUR RACE TIME WILL START AFTER YOU PASS UNDER THE ARCH AND OVER THE CHIP TIMING MAT. 13. STARTING THE RACE – THE NEXT WAVE WILL BE CALLED AND REPORT TO THE START-LINE AREA JUST LIKE IN STEP 12 ABOVE TO START THE RACE. THIS WILL CONTIUE UNTIL ALL WAVES ARE ON THE COURSE. 14. THE LIV-LIVE 2 MILE RUN WILL BE THE LAST START WAVE. 15. RELAY TEAMS – EACH MEMBER OF YOUR TEAM WILL BE ISSUED A BIB/CHIP. NO SHARING OF THE BIB/CHIP IS REQUIRED. 16. RELAY TEAMS – FIRST PERSON OF RELAY REPORTS TO WAVE START AREA CORRESPONDING TO THEIR WAVE. OTHER RELAY TEAM MEMBERS REPORT TO YOUR RELAY EXCHANGE AREA NEAR TRANSITION. SOCIAL DISTANCING WILL BE REQUIRED IN THE EXCHANGE ZONE. 17. RELAY TEAMS – NO HAND OFF, HIGH FIVES, OR TOUCHING OF OTHER TEAMMATE IS REQUIRED. ONCE YOUR TEAMMATE HAS ENTERED THE EXCHANGE ZONE, THE NEXT TEAMMATE IS FREE TO START THEIR PORTION OF THE EVENT. 18. RACE PARTICIPANTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO COMPLY WITH THE EVENT SAFETY GUIDELINES AND THE USAT’S RETURN TO SAFE RACING FOR AHTLETES DURING ALL PHASES OF THE RACE. ALL SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIREMENTS WILL BE IN EFFECT – PLEASE READ THE SAFETY GUIDELINES. WE DO NOT WANT TO REMOVE ANY PARTICIPANT FOR NON-COMPLIANCE; HOWEVER FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL PARTICIPANTS, WE WILL ENFORCE ALL RULES. FINISHING THE RACE THE RACE WILL CONTINUE UNTIL ALL PARTICIPANTS HAVE FINISHED, UNTIL 11:00AM, OR 3 HOURS AFTER THE START OF THE EVENT. ANY PARTICIPANTS THAT ARE STILL ON THE COURSE ATTEMPTING TO FINISH THE EVENT WHEN THE EVENT ENDS – ARE STILL REQUIRED TO COMPLY WITH THE EVENT RULES AND COVID-19 SAFETY. UPON COMPLETION OF THE RACE, EACH PARTICIPANT IS EXPECTED TO DO THE FOLLOWING: 1. CROSS THE FINISH LINE ! 2. PICKUP FINISHER MEDAL – A VOLUNTEER WEARING A MASK AND GLOVES WILL HAND YOU THE FINISHER MEDAL – PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THE STACK OF MEDALS. 3. WATER – A VOLUNTEEER WEARING A MASK AND GLOVES WILL HAND YOU A BOTTLED WATER. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THE BOTTLES OF WATER, LET THE VOLUTEER HAND IT TO YOU. 4. POST RACE – AFTER FINISHING THE RACE ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO PROMPTLY: - RETURN TO WEARING A FACE MASK. - PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDANCE. STAY 6 FEET APART, NO GROUPS. - EXIT THE RACE AREA AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. 5. COLLECTING YOUR BIKE AND GEAR IN TRANSITION AFTER THE RACE. AFTER FINISHING, YOU MAY SAFELY COLLECT YOUR GEAR FROM THE TRANSITION AREA. - PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING. - WEAR YOUR FACE MASK. - DO NOT IMPEDE OTHER ATHLETES STILL PARTICIPATING IN EVENT. 5. RESULTS - THERE WILL BE NO ON-SITE, POST RACE, AWARDS CEREMONY. 6. RESULTS - ALL RESULTS WILL BE POSTED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO TRI-3TIMING.COM WEBSITE RESULT TAB. OVERALL & AGE GROUP AWARDS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PICKUP/DELIVERY. 7. EXITING THE RACE AREA - ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO PROMPTY EXIT RACE AREA AFTER THEY HAVE COMPLETED THE RACE AND COLLECTED THEIR GEAR. EVENT/RACE AREA 1. RACE PARTICIPANTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO COMPLY WITH THE EVENT SAFETY GUIDELINES AND THE USAT’S RETURN TO SAFE RACING FOR AHTLETES DURING ALL PHASES OF THE RACE. ALL SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIREMENTS WILL BE IN EFFECT – PLEASE READ THE SAFETY GUIDELINES. EVERYONE IS REQUIRED TO WEAR A FACE MASK IN THE RACE AREA – BEFORE AND AFTER THE RACE. RACE OFFICIALS DO NOT WANT TO REMOVE ANY PARTICIPANT FOR NON-COMPLIANCE; HOWEVER FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL PARTICIPANTS, ALL RULES WILL BE ENFORCED. 2. HAND SANITIZER STATIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS. 3. SOCIAL DISTANCING SIGNS WILL BE DISPLAYED THROUGHOUT THE EVENT AREA TO REMIND PARTICIPANTS TO SOCIAL DISTANCE. 4. SAFETY MARSHALS WILL BE IN THE EVENT AREA TO ENFORCE SOCIAL DISTANCING. 5. EVERYONE INSIDE THE RACE AREA IS REQUIED TO WEAR A FACE MASK WHEN NOT COMPETING. 6. SPECTATORS WILL BE LIMITED. FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL, SPECTATORS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED AND ROCKRIVER MULTISPORT AND PEAK SPORTS CLUB WILL ASK SPECTATORS TO NOT GROUP AND WAIT OUTSIDE RACE AREAS. PARTICIPANTS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE PARENTS/GUARDIANS AT THE RACE AREA.
