M/C MISSION STATEMENT

Our name, Culpeper Minutemen M/C, has a historical foundation dating back to the time of the separation of the Colonies from England. Originally, the Minutemen were a citizen formed for the protection of the Colonies and for safety from the encroachment by outside military and/or other hostile groups of privateers, during the 1700’s, in what was then referred to as the new world. The original “Culpeper Minutemen” were one of many groups of Minutemen who served as the protectors at large in the Colonies at that time, but were distinguished from other groups of militias and flew a banner displaying the rattlesnake insignia, with the “Don’t Tread on Me” motto. We are commonly known as the, “Minutemen M/C” We are a non-profit motorcycle club, dedicated to the community and to helping others through charitable activities and fund raisers for specific purposes, serving the needs of others less fortunate due to illness, accidents, disease, or other unfortunate situations or circumstances that result in hardship for the individuals and their families. We were founded in 1994 in Culpeper as a structured group, though loosely so in our club construction, placing family and job responsibility before the clubs interest. We are self supporting through our personal contributions, loosely referred to as dues. We are a group of like-minded friends who enjoy riding motorcycles. We have a code of conduct based on mutual respect for our members and others. We live by a code of moral behavior founded on the age old, “golden rule”. We view our members as our family extending to each other the love and appreciation found in every family. As with any group of organized members we do have leadership, however, our primary view is one of equality toward our members. Beyond the need of organized activities our leadership is not visible. Our membership comes from Culpeper and Greene county chapters. We are not territorial in nature but have remained in this-area since our founding in 1994. Although our membership ranges from other nearby counties, we do not claim territory as belonging exclusively to our group. We accept and respect the rights of others to ride free and unimpeded where ever they care to ride, and expect the same from others in return. In our tours (run's) whether for fun or as benefits, we tend to travel throughout the Central Virginia area. The Culpeper Minutemen M/C is not intended as a militia group nor does our group specifically identify itself as a para-military or openly political group. We are not a motorcycle gang. We are not a group of outlaw bikers. We do not engage in criminal activity to support our life, or riding activities. We distinguish our group as a 99% Motorcycle Club. This designation is intended to illustrate we would, under other conditions, belong to the broader identity of M/C’s but choose not to do so because of personal circumstances such age, occupation, family situation, job affiliation, disability or other factors that eliminate us from such groups membership, but do support such groups in a quid-pro-quo affiliation style. Our insignia is similar to that of other motorcycle clubs, in that we decorate our vests with patch work that identifies us, as most other groups do, and upon close observation can be recognized and clearly understood as having no esoteric meaning but rather simple identifying labels regarding location and group affiliation. We support the local community at large and legislation that is intended to better serve the public in its resolute intent. We support the constitutional rights of the public and private sectors. We support other clubs and riding groups as well. We are always available to help in the time of need, be it a local issue of a public nature or a private one unknown to the community at large, we can be called upon to lend a hand. In the event of a disaster we can be depended on to live up to our historical reputation of helping others in their time of need. During our fund raisers, we encourage friends and associates to help as supporters by participating in our fund raising activities or simply come on out for a fun day of music, eating and games for young and old alike.
