For stays of short duration (up to 90 days: pleasure, business), you must present yourself only if you entered through a Schen- gen border in order to declare your presence, since the residence permit in these cases is no longer needed. CONFERMENT OF THE ITALIAN CITIZENSHIP – law 5/02/1992, no. 91 and law 15/07/2009, no. 94 implying changes Art. 5 - married with an Italian citizen - requirements: 2 years of legal residence in Italy after the wedding date; the above mentioned terms are reduced to half in case of children born from or adopted by the spouses; 3 years of marriage, if residing abroad (application through the Italian Consulate); Art. 9 - not married with an Italian citizen requirements: 10 years of legal residence in the Italian territory; exceptions: 3 years if descending from an Italian family (father, mother, grandparents); 5 years if adopted by an Italian citizen; 5 years if you rendered services to the Italian State, also abroad; 5 years if stateless or political refugee; 4 years if citizen of the European Community; The self-certification for Italian documents related to the civil status is no longer admitted; 9 2. PERMIT FOR FAMILY REUNION AND TO ACCOMPANYING FAMILY MEMBERS - the permit must be requested at the Sportello Singolo dell’Immigrazione (at the Prefect’s Office U.T.G) online; - release of permit; - an entry visa must be requested at consular authorities; - a residence permit must be requested at the Sportello Unico within 8 days from entering Italy; - release of the fiscal code through online connection with the Revenue Agency; 3. PERMIT TO SEASONAL AND NON SEASONAL WORKERS 4. WORK PERMIT EX ART. 27, paragraph 1 L.D. no. 286/1998 5. PERMITS FOR NEW CITIZENS OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITY (ROMANIANS – BULGARIANS) - the employer must request a hiring permit from the Sportello Singolo dell’Immigrazione (at the Prefect’s Office U.T.G) of the place where the work activity is performed; - the employer is called for the permit release; - the employee must request the entry visa from the consular authorities; - the foreigner must undersign the residence agreement for work reasons at the Sportello Singolo within 8 days from entering in Italy; - request of the residence permit; - release of the fiscal code through online connection with the Revenue Agency; in points 3 and 4 the request is sent online; in point 5 the request is sent through specific modules that can be picked up at the Sportello Singolo dell’Immigrazione; the possible extension and renewal of the permit is foreseen only for point 4; 6. EMERSION OF IRREGULAR DOMESTIC WORKERS 10 (LAW 102/2009) Receive and process requests transmitted online from 1 to 30 September, 2009, with regards to signing work contracts and requesting residence poermits for 2009.
