Party in Baton Rouge, Louisiana celebrates Anthony Ryan Auld’swin

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — The Home Appliance Division of Brother International Corporation, a leading supplier of innovative products for the home sewing enthusiast, co-sponsored a lavish party on January 17, 2013 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at the Louisiana State Museum to watch the finale of Lifetime TV’sProject Runway All Stars 2 in which Louisiana native Anthony Ryan Auld was proclaimed the winner of this season’scompetition. Brother, a long-time sponsor of the hit show, presented Auld with the winner’scheck of $150,000 and one of the machines for his new sewing and embroidery studio worth $40,000.

The party, which attracted hundreds of fans, fashionistas, and local dignitaries, was a celebration and viewing party to see the final episode in which Auld was declared the winner. The Office of Louisiana Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne took part by co-hosting the party. Kicking off the festivities was a preview of Auld’sand fellow All Stars designer Joshua McKinley Cook’s new 2013 collections. Auld, a testicular cancer survivor, also announced his nonprofit foundation called ROAR that awards fashion dreams to cancer victims and their friends and family by taking them shopping or creating a custom garment. Auld also used the event to announce a special collaboration with the LSU School of Human Ecology’sTextiles, Apparel Design & Merchandising program, where he graduated with a degree in textile merchandising.

“Iam so excited and proud to win this season’sProject Runway All Stars 2,”says Auld. “It was a very demanding, challenging show but I felt that I displayed my best work and the judges agreed. At tonight’sparty we brought the Louisiana public an event that allowed insight into the fashion industry and what it takes to be the next big name in fashion. I hope that I can make a positive influence on young designers, especially those living in Louisiana, to follow their dreams and work in fashion design.”
