Founded along the coast, once the east neared buildout, developers moved west. As land there now grows scarce, developers are looking back east for infill, rezoning and redevelopment to meet the city’s changing needs. No place better reveals this dynamic than the Park at Broken Sound. Created as a model corporate park in the 1970s, developers several years ago saw the Arvida Park of Commerce and its 700 acres as underutilized – and prime for redevelopment. Altis Boca Raton is among the offerings at the Park at Broken Sound. MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT NAVIGATE YOUR PATH Parents and Guardians, Families living in Palm Beach County have more than 300 Choice and Career programs available to them that offer exciting learning opportunities for our community’s K–12 students to pursue special interests, talents, and career goals. Because these elementary, middle, and high schools have theme-based curriculum offering innovative and rigorous academic instruction by specially trained teachers, most programs draw students from across school attendance boundaries and our programs are accessed through a centralized application process (highlighted in this booklet). These dynamic Choice and Career programs create vibrant learning options that promote student achievement. These offerings have a special focus, ranging from science and world languages to performing arts and computer programming. They provide in-depth experiences and distinct choices for students with different passions, aptitudes, and gifts.
