KALVORT, CPRE CITY COUNCIL OF BOCA RATON Friends, 201 West Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton, FL 33432 Summer is a vibrant time in Boca Raton, especially in the Recreation Services Department. As a former camp counselor and attendee, I’m MAYOR Scott Singer excited that dozens of fun camp experiences are available for our children. DEPUTY MAYOR Jeremy Rodgers We offer everything from Camp Boca, our longstanding camp program that keeps children coming back year after year, to many specialty camps, with COUNCIL MEMBERS Monica Mayotte themes ranging from cultural arts to sea turtles and science to rock music. There’s something for everyone! With all these camps and programs, no Andrea Levine O'Rourke child or tween in Boca will complain they are bored this summer. Andy Thomson Summer’s also the time when many of us swim at our two amazing pools CITY MANAGER Leif J. Ahnell, CPA, CGFO and spend time on our miles of public beaches. Being an Ocean Rescue Lifeguard or a Pool Lifeguard is one of the most challenging positions we have in the city. These dedicated individuals keep a vigilant watch on our shorelines, pools, and beaches to ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience. They also teach many swimming and safety classes and assist with our Dog Beach, which operates at designated times on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. I’d like to offer a heartfelt nod of appreciation to all my fellow team members who are dedicated to assisting you when you are visiting one of our aquatic or beach facilities. Speaking of aquatic facilities, I encourage you to take a trip to the newly GREATER BOCA RATON BEACH & PARK DISTRICT reconstructed Swim and Racquet Center, located at 21626 St. Andrews Blvd. Developed by the Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District, this 300 South Military Trail, Boca Raton, FL 33486 amenity offers a 25-yard-long swimming and lap lane pool, a brand-new (561) 417-4599 children’s splash pad, and a beautiful indoor facility that will house new programs such as birthday parties and aquatic classes, locker rooms, and family changing rooms. This facility is primed to serve the community for CHAIR Susan Vogelgesang decades to come, and I hope you’ll join me in thanking the Beach and Park District for their investment in developing wellness facilities. VICE-CHAIR Erin A. Wright Finally, I want to encourage you to take some time out of your hectic SECRETARY-TREASURER Craig F. Ehrnst schedule to engage in recreation. You’ll thank yourself once you are done! COMMISSIONERS Robert K. Rollins, Jr. I look forward to seeing you in a park, program, or facility soon! Steven M.
