England, sailed, with 60 others, from South Hampton, in "The BEVIS", in May 1638.Rob ert Batten was sailing master. Daniel married in Boston, Oct. 20, 1650, Mary Farnum, daughter of Ralph Farnum and his first wif'e, Mary, who 1 were said to have been f'elJLow passengers on the trip to the colony. A1-:-out 10 years after his arrival, Daniel Poor was in Andover, and here he took the oath of Freeman, in :March 1655. The birt~ of' ten to of' his eleven children are recorded here. In Andover he bought the Barnard and Bradstreet Division Lots and r-Lis; homestead was in the present No.Andover, on the road from North Parish to .l..JaVlrence, near the junction of the Shawshin and M.errimac Rivers.Tbis was known as "Shawshin Fields", and extended intol/Moose Country." There was a garrison house on the land, said to have been that of ~obert (1) Barnard. The Poor property included also, land in So.Lawrence near the Falls. Daniel Poor died June 8, 1689. Among his bequests was th~t of two acres of Woodchuck Meadow, to his brother-in-law, John Farnum. Mary (Fa:> died on Feb. 3, 1714, at 85. Their children :- num)(~1'01r1; . Francis Dane, son of Rev. F~ancis Dane. They settled in West Andover on a place called "Little Hope", above George Baker's. He d. in l738,aged 81 years; she d. Feb.17,1746; they had 9 children.
