DBS Chairman explained the required collaterals for the events. We were able to final the designation of task for each Chapter, agreed by all. He clearly shared to us the History of the Baroque Style Church, now in its 447 years. Shown is the very intricate handcrafted door, (still the original) done by Chinese origin. Inside San Agustin Church, the place where Miguel Lopez de Legazpi was buried. Shown is one of the altar’s pillar and the very delicate and extremely beautiful ceiling in which was actually a 3 – dimensional paint. A typical “Bahay na Bato” modelled on Spanish Colonial Architecture has 3 floors and this represents the life of the elite class or the one called Illustrados during those era. Nova Central Chapter gain so much knowledge on one of our histories, with a very informative talk, delivered to us by Mr. Fernando Andam, our Tour Guide. El Plan de Conquista de China.- Asimismo, los sucesivos sustitutos de Sande, Gonzalo Ronquillo de Peñalosa1 –ya vistos- y Santiago de Vera, redactaron un plan más detallado que obtuvo la aprobación entusiasta de las autoridades de Manila, tanto las políticas como las militares y las religiosas. Como fuerza expedicionaria se requerían los cientos de soldados españoles destacados en Filipinas más un refuerzo de doce mil enviados desde España y cinco o seis mil nativos auxiliares, a los que habría que sumar otros diez o doce mil japoneses que reclutarían los jesuitas. En total unos veinte o veinticinco mil hombres entre los que habría contingentes portugueses para que fuera una campaña común. El número de efectivos, que doblaba el previsto antes, tenía como objetivo abrumar al enemigo y provocar su sometimiento evitando un derramamiento de sangre que despoblara el país, como había pasado con los taínos de Cuba. Se calculaba que además del armamento personal de cada soldado era necesario un complemento de quinientos mosquetes, cuatro mil picas, mil caballos, un millar de morriones y borgoñotas y un número no especificado 1 D. Gonzalo Ronquillo de Peñalosa, llegó a las Islas Filipinas con un ejército de seiscientos hombres “formado a su costa” y la merced soberana del gobierno vitalicio de las islas con facultad de nombrar sucesor interino en caso necesario, por lo que tras su fallecimiento, ocurrido en Manila en 1583, le sucedió su hermano D.
