ENGELBERG SUMMER NEWS 2018 Engelberg is fast becoming Central Switzerland’s premier bike destination. The new Joch Pass trail offers great biking fun for riders of all abilities and preferences, whether they like to ride fast or slow, to tackle tough terrain or take it easy. Safety is always paramount, and our new Ride & Safe- ty deal makes sure you stay secure in the saddle. More active summer fun in Engelberg comes with two fixed dates on the event calendar: the Fisherman’s Friend StrongmanRun obstacle race, which attracts some of the world’s toughest and craziest runners; and the Winnetou open-air spec- tacular, which brings all the flair of the Wild West to our picturesque Alpine landscape. Hikers can enjoy an adventurous Buiräbähnli Safari – tours that include walks across fragrant Alpine mead- ows, visits to cosy mountain huts, and rides on the rustic “Buiräbähnli” cable cars. ACTIVITIES NEW JOCH PASS TRAIL With 440 metres of descent, this new 5 km trail offers plenty of fun and flow for riders of all abilities. The trail starts at the Joch Pass mountain station, from where it snakes downhill to Trübsee. The route’s curves, bumps and rollers have been designed in such a way to provide equal fun for beginners and more advanced riders. Tip: For even more cycling pleasure, take the Four Lakes Tour up to the Joch Pass from Melchsee-Frutt, and conclude with the exciting downhill ride along the Joch Pass Trail down to Trübsee. www.engelberg.ch/en/bike NEW BUIRÄBÄHNLI SAFARI TOURS The recently introduced Buiräbähnli Safaris are proving to be a big hit with summer guests. There is now a new Safari between Brändlen and Oberrickenbach, with two additional quaint and quirky cars to quicken your pulse. The open-topped car from Spies to Sinsgäu offers a particularly bracing ride.
