Subject: Rare surveys at Yellow Rose Ranch on April 26, 2018

The purpose of this memorandum is to describe the results of a rare plant survey conducted by WRA at Yellow Rose Ranch in Calistoga, California. The rare plant survey was conducted as part of a reconnaissance survey to determine potential biological constraints at the study site.

On April 26, 2018, WRA botanists Rhiannon Korhummel and Scott Yarger conducted a rare plant survey throughout potential rare plant within the study site. They also visited a nearby reference site, with WRA botanist Aaron Arthur, at the old airport in Calistoga to determine phenology of the rare plant species with potential to occur at the study site. Rare with potential to occur onsite, as well as their blooming periods, are presented in the table below. No special-status plants were observed at Yellow Rose Ranch. Furthermore, based on the reference site visit, Napa bluegrass is considered absent from Yellow Rose Ranch as well. Therefore, rare plants known from the region are considered absent from Yellow Rose Ranch, and no further plant surveys are necessary.
