Ero troppo piccolo per capire cosa significasse quella trasmissione, anzi per essere onesto ero da strada Vita totalmente disinteressato. Ma quello che mi piaceva, e per questo aspettavo il giovedì sera con trepidazione, era il potersi riunire tutti insieme per seguire l'appuntamento televisivo con Mike Bongiorno come se si trattasse di una festa, di una ricorrenza. Era diventato un momento importante, aggregante nella nostra vita. A volte venivano i nonni, i miei amati zii, ma anche i vicini di casa. Era un modo per stare insieme, per sentirsi parte di una società che stava cambiando. Il Rischiatutto arrivava dopo l'autunno caldo e la strage di Piazza Fontana. Un periodo significativo, molto significativo per il nostro Paese. E solo adesso comprendo che c'era la voglia di essere informati, di scoprire una parte della nostra Italia sconosciuta anche attraverso i concorrenti del Rischiatutto, persone semplici, ma con grandi passioni personali. Così quando lo scorso anno al salone del Libro di Torino ho visto la straordinaria copia della "cabina dei concorrenti" non ho resistito. -

About the Centro Film Collection The Centro Library and Archives houses one of the most extensive collections of films documenting the Puerto Rican experience. The collection includes documentaries, public service news programs; Hollywood produced feature films, as well as cinema films produced by the film industry in Puerto Rico. Presently we house over 500 titles, both in DVD and VHS format. Films from the collection may be borrowed, and are available for teaching, study, as well as for entertainment purposes with due consideration for copyright and intellectual property laws. Film Lending Policy Our policy requires that films be picked-up at our facility, we do not mail out. Films maybe borrowed by college professors, as well as public school teachers for classroom presentations during the school year. We also lend to student clubs and community-based organizations. For individuals conducting personal research, or for students who need to view films for class assignments, we ask that they call and make an appointment for viewing the film(s) at our facilities. INTRODUCTION The National Association of Theatre Owners (“NATO”) respectfully submits the following comments in response to the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division’s (the “Department”) announced intentions to review the Paramount Consent Decrees (the “Decrees”). Individual motion picture theater companies may comment on the five various provisions of the Decrees but NATO’s comment will focus on one seminal provision of the Decrees. Specifically, NATO urges the Department to maintain the prohibition on block booking, as that prohibition undoubtedly continues to support pro-competitive practices. NATO is the largest motion picture exhibition trade organization in the world, representing more than 33,000 movie screens in all 50 states, and additional cinemas in 96 countries worldwide. Our membership includes the largest cinema chains in the world and hundreds of independent theater owners. NATO and its members have a significant interest in preserving an open marketplace in the North American film industry. North America remains the biggest film-going market in the world: It accounts for roughly 30% of global revenue from only 5% of the global population. The strength of the American movie industry depends on the availability of a wide assortment of films catering to the varied tastes of moviegoers. Indeed, both global blockbusters and low- budget independent fare are necessary to the financial vitality and reputation of the American film industry. -
