FUNDS WHO appreciates the contribution of donors (DFID, BMGF, DFATD Canada, JICA, Funds Requested: 34 Million USD UNOCHA, ECHO, South Korea, Czech Republic and Germany) to support Gaps: 14.98 million USD towards, COVID-19 through WHO Pakistan. MEETING AND COORDINATION

On 15th March 2021, WHO Country Representative Pakistan, Dr Palitha Mahipala participated in the ceremony to launch the 2020 maternal, newborn and child health report at Serena Hotel, Islamabad. The ceremony was graced by Parliamentary Secretary for Health, Dr Nosheen Hamid and Director General Health, Ministry of National Health Services Regulation and Coordination, Dr Rana Safdar. The report highlighted progress on key RMNCAH indicators especially the declining trends in fertility rate, maternal, neonatal and under-five mortality though at a slow pace. The report provides evidence for advocacy and accountability towards achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). During his speech, Dr Palitha appreciated the Government Dr Palitha Mahipala (left), WHO Country Representative Pakistan, of Pakistan’s commitment towards improving health of the Dr Rana Safdar (Center), Director General Health, MoNHSR&C people of Pakistan with a special focus on marginalized Dr. Nausheen Hamid (Right) Parliamentary Secretary for Health segments of society including women and children.
