In our diocese, the mother church, Llandaff Cathedral remembers the parishes, clergy, committees, specialist ministries and the people each day at the Eucharist. The diocese is asked to pray for the work of the 2 Cathedral in its servant role and especially on those days in which your parish is remembered at the Cathedral. The titles of the Sundays and other days are from the Church in Wales Lectionary for 2017/18 Year B, Weekdays Year II. Most of the Prayers in the Welsh Language (and the English translation) are contributed by Rev’d. Dyfrig Lloyd, Vicar of Cardiff, Dewi Sant and Diocesan Welsh Language Officer. Dduw, ein Tad nefol, bwrw ymaith oddi wrthym bob ysbryd hunanol a thrachwant rhag i ni fod yn rhwystr i neb mewn unrhyw fodd. Rho i ni ysbryd goddefgar a chydymdeimlad tuag at bawb sydd mewn angen a thrallod; trwy Iesu Grist ein Harglwydd. Amen. Ernest of Penarth Papers Dates : [circa 1928]-2007 Level of description: Fonds Extent and medium: 0.10 cubic metres; 5 boxes Name of creator(s): Robert M. Ernest (1904-1991) and Anthony M. Ernest (1936-) Administrative/biographical history Robert Monroe Ernest (1904-1991) was born in Cartago, Costa Rica, the son of John Robert Ernest of Dundee and Elizabeth Monroe of Hartlepool, later of Penarth. His father's work as a Master Mariner led him to Costa Rica, where he settled with his family. John established a successful coffee plantation of some 3000 acres, 'Rosemount Estates' in Cartago Province, along with the 'Juan Vinas Concrete Products Co. Ltd', which manufactured concrete paving and kerbstones from imported South Wales Portland cement. John and Elizabeth raised five sons in Costa Rica, and sold their thriving estate to the country's government in 1947. Robert Monroe Ernest was educated at Westwood College, Penarth, travelling back to Costa Rica by sea for the long summer break. In the early 1930s he purchased the Costa Rica Coffee Co. Ltd., coffee and tea importers and merchants based at 14 Dumfries Place, Cardiff, from his uncle Ralph. The company moved to 1 and 2 Great Western Approach sometime around 1938. This allowed for expansion in response to trade with UK hotels and restaurants, in particular the Italian owned cafes of the south Wales valleys. The company purchased coffee from the family estate along with most of the principal coffee producing countries of the world.

CHAPTER ONE GENERAL INTRODUCTION 1.0 Background to the Study Acts of conflict and violence occur daily in different parts of the world. This is due to a variety of motives, which include political fanaticism, ethnic hatred, religious extremism and ideological differences. Conflict is perennial and an ingredient towards the actualization of individual and group interests. According to S.A. Ayinla, it is a natural announcement of an impending re-classification of a society with changed characteristics and goals and with new circumstances of survival and continuity1. Conflict is a universal human experience. Its origin and nature are best explained within the framework of human nature and environment in which man lives2.Conflicts and violence are common factors in both secular and sacred institutions. In spite of the fact that the church is believed to be a holy institution ordained by God, she has never at any time outgrown conflicts and violence. This is due to the fact that, the affairs of the church are administered by human beings who are not always perfect or faultless. By 1975, the Warri Diocese, Anglican Communion, had not existed as a corporate Christian entity. The year _____________________________________________________________________________________________ 1S.A Ayinla (ed.) But by the year 2000, the Diocese had existed for over twenty years and had given birth to two other Dioceses, viz; Ughelli and Oleh (Isoko) Dioceses.
