How much blood, sap, serum, suero, sweat has fed this soil? Whose hands, whose sweat, whose blood has dripped into this dirt, we try to call home? Thirteenth Sunday in Kingdomtide November 17, 2019 General Concept: To be committed to the pursuit of a transformed church and society means to consecrate our whole being to the work of ushering in the Reign of God. Biblical References: Isaiah 65:17-25, Luke 21:5-19 Age-Level Concepts ⚫ We need to be committed to our participation in the transformation of Church and society. ⚫ We need to offer our whole being to the work of ushering in the Reign of God. Learning Objectives By the end of the session, the learners are expected to: ⚫ Explain why we need to commit ourselves to the transformation of both Church and society ⚫ Identify their capacities and capabilities which they think are useful and helpful in the work of transformation ⚫ Resolve to dedicate oneself to the work of ushering in God’s Reign Materials: The Holy Bible (preferably the New Revised Standard Version [NRSV]), song chart, offering plate or basket, Used Calendar for Sunday’s Phrase and Memory Verse. The Rita Williams Popular Song Collection A Handlist A wide-ranging collection of c. 4000 individual popular songs, dating from the 1920s to the 1970s and including songs from films and musicals. Originally the personal collection of the singer Rita Williams, with later additions, it includes songs in various European languages and some in Afrikaans. Rita Williams sang with the Billy Cotton Club, among other groups, and made numerous recordings in the 1940s and 1950s. The songs are arranged alphabetically by title. The Rita Williams Popular Song Collection is a closed access collection. Please ask at the enquiry desk if you would like to use it. Our Play Guides are designed to be a valuable tool in two ways: helping you prepare your students for the enriching performance given by LCT’s performers, as well as serving as an educational tool for extending the production experience back into your classroom. We designed each activity to assist in achieving the Kentucky Academic Standards (KAS), including the National Core Arts Standards for Theatre.
