N2130 (Sept – Dec) 1A) Public Health Nursing office 1A) Public health nursing offices – focus on 64 second year students complete a rotation Nursing of Young Families (Charlottetown, Montague, or Summerside) promotion of childrens’ health and in a PHN or Pediatric setting for half of OR prevention of illness rotation and all students also access a 1B) Pediatric Nursing Unit (QEH Days and OR Kindergarten for half of rotation Eves; PCH Days and Eves) 1B) Pediatric Nursing Unit in hospital setting – focus on child-hood illness 2) Kindergartens in the English Language School Boards’ family of schools 2) Kindergartens in the school system (includes class visits, Health Presentations, and Teddy Bear Clinics)

N3230 (Sept – Dec) 1) Queen Elizabeth Hospital -Adult Nursing Unit for half of rotation 80 third students in CNI- led groups of eight Partnerships with Clients and Families (Unit 1, 2, 3, or 8) SN (including 2 year- accelerated student (Unit 9 – Inpt. Mental Health-Days and Eves) -Inpt. Mental Health (or Inpt. Addictions, cohort) prn) for other half of rotation 2) Prince County Hospital (Surgery, Inpt. Mental Health) Days and Eves Total 192 clinical hours

3) KCMH Inpt. Unit N3130 (Jan – April) Variety of Community agencies: One Community Nursing Placement x 12 48 third year students (other 32 students Developing Partnerships with Clients I.e. Home Care Nursing, Public Health weeks complete during N3100) (including 2 Nursing, Primary Health Care Centres, UPEI year/accelerated student cohort) Wellness Initiative, Ambulatory Care, Total 184 clinical hours Community Mental Health, Addictions, Group Homes, etc… N3060 (Jan – April) 1) Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Unit 4 - Maternal Infant Unit 32 third year students in CNI- led groups of Nursing of the Childbearing Family Maternal-Infant Unit) Days and Eves eight SN Total 184 clinical hours (other 48 students complete during N3100) 2) Prince County Hospital (Maternal-Child (including 2 year/accelerated student cohort) Unit) Days and Eves N4020 (Jan – April) Student choices often include in-province Final 8 week (320 hour) clinical 64 fourth year student preceptorships Advanced Nursing Focus preceptorships Examples include: Queen preceptorship Elizabeth Hospital, Prince County Hospital, Total 320 clinical hours Kings County Memorial Hospital, Western Hospital, Prince Edward Home, etc…

Eligible Students who meet criteria also have options for out-of-province preceptorships Examples include: Nova Scotia (IWK, Nova Scotia Health Authority), New Brunswick (Horizon Health) Manitoba (First Nation Inuit Health), etc…

FIRST SUMMER SESSION N3100 (May – June) 1) Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Unit 1, 2, 3, and 9-week clinical block All 80 third year students on adult nursing Integrated Clinical Experience 8) Days and eves unit for half of rotation in CNI- led groups of (Unit 4 - Maternal-Infant Unit) Days and -Adult Nursing Unit for half of rotation eight SN (including 2 year/accelerated eves student cohort) -Maternal-Infant setting OR Community 2) Prince County Hospital (Surgery, Nursing placement for other half of rotation 48 third year students complete Maternal- Maternal-Child Unit) Days and eves (whichever was not completed in second Infant Nursing for other half of rotation in semester) CNI- led groups of eight SN 3) Variety of Community agencies: I.e. Community Mental Health, Addictions, 32 third year students complete Community Group Homes, etc… Total 288 clinical hours Nursing or International placements for other half of rotation 4) International Placements include: (Roatan, Honduras; Costa Rica; Cayman Islands in 2018)
