MAFIA MEETUP CHECKLIST (Short Version)
Download the Mafia Meetup Kit. (Good Job; you’ve already completed this!) Search for a June 25th Mafia Meetup Day community in your city: http://zyn.ga/6Jp (If one does not yet exist in your city, start one!) RSVP to the June 25th “Meetings of the Mobs” Meetup by clicking on the “Count Me In” button. Pick a time for the Meetup if it has not already been picked. Pick a location for the Meetup if it has not already been picked. Get all your friends and mafia to RSVP to the Meetup. o Announce it on Facebook: . Post to your wall. . Mention it in your status updates. o Send emails to friends. o Send messages over chat. o Tweet about it on Twitter. (Use the #mafiameetup hashtag.) Remind your Meetup group via the “Talk about this Meetup” feature as June 25th nears. o 1 week prior o 1 day prior Plan your Meetup agenda. (see Meetup Agenda Suggestions) Bring materials to your Meetup: o camera o video camera o name tags o pens o printed sign o Zyngo cards Have a blast at your Meetup! MAFIA MEETUP CHECKLIST (Long/Detailed Version with Images)
Download the Mafia Meetup Kit. (Good Job; you’ve already completed this!) Search for a June 25th Mafia Meetup Day community in your city at http://zyn.ga/6Jp. The list of cities is very long; the fastest way to find your city in it is to search for it via your browser’s search feature (often launched by pressing “CTRL” + “F” on your keyboard). Once you find it, click your city name to proceed to RSVP.
If you don’t see your city in the list and would like to start a Meetup, please do the following: 1. Double check to make sure that there is no Meetup in your city by typing your city and region (State or Country) in the search box in the top right hand corner of the page. (see below)
2. If your city doesn’t appear in the results, click the “Start a new community in…” link at the bottom.
3. Enter the name of your neighborhood, town, or city and click on the “Create” button.
4. Click the “Yes” button when asked if you are sure you want to create a new community in your city.
5. You should be immediately directed to the June 25th “Meeting of the Mobs” Mafia Meetup Day in your city. Perform the following steps.
RSVP to the June 25th “Meetings of the Mobs” Meetup by clicking on the “Count Me In” button on the right hand side. (see below)
Pick a time for the Meetup if it has not already been picked.
June 25th is the next worldwide Mafia Meetup Day, so you do not need to change this date.
(A) If the Meetup does not yet have a specified time, select a time for it.
(B) If Meetup organizers have already selected a time and you agree with the decision, you do not need to take any further action.
(C) If Meetup organizers have already selected a time and you would like to suggest alternative times, submit your suggestions in the “Talk about this Meetup” section. (see below)
Pick a location for the Meetup if it has not already been picked.

MEETUP TIPS FROM THE MAFIA WARS TEAM
Meetup Location o Use resources like Yelp (http://www.yelp.com) and Google Search to find fun locations in your city. o Locations that are especially great for Meetups include bars, cafes, & restaurants. o Call potential locations to learn which one best fits your group. o Make sure you have secured a location for your Meetup. Nothing’s worse than having everyone show up and get turned away.
Meetup Day Preparation o What To Do . Encourage everyone to bring cameras and video cameras and to post their photos & videos to the forum post for “Meeting of the Mobs”: http://zyn.ga/69p They could be featured on the Mafia Wars Facebook Fan Page and the Mafia Wars Blog! (Hint: Whole-group photos are our favorite.) . If you bring a sound system, create a fun music playlist. . Videotape people’s questions and comments for the Mafia Wars Team. Other suggested video topics: Favorite thing about Mafia Wars, Features you’d like to see in the game, Favorite Mafia Wars city and why. . Post any suggestions and feedback regarding how to run successful Meetups to the forum post for “Meeting of the Mobs”: http://zyn.ga/69p o What To Bring . Getting the Word Out o 1 or 2 days before the Meetup, use the “Talk about this Meetup” section on the bottom of your Meetup page to send a reminder to all the people who RSVPed for the event. (Find local event websites by typing key words like “NYC events” or “local events in New York” into a search engine.) . Zyngo Icebreaker o This game encourages Meetup attendees to mingle with each other. o Anyone can print multiple copies of the Zyngo cards from this kit. o Mafia Tip: Take photos & record 15 – 30 second videos of the Zynga Cards Icebreaker.
Fan Introduction o Attendees can share their name and the #1 reason why they love Mafia Wars. o Mafia Tip: Take photos & record 1 – 2 minute videos of the Fan Introductions.
New Feature Discussion o What are the top 3 features that your group wants to see in the game? Jot down a list of all the features and then have the group vote on the top 3. o Mafia Tip: Take photos & record 1 – 2 minute videos presenting the top responses to the Mafia Wars Team.
What Past Meetups Have Done o Shared their #1 reasons why they love Mafia Wars. o Played Zyngo (see printable Zyngo cards). o Exchanged contact info to help each other add more members to their mafia. o Discussed new features they’d like to see in the game. o Had pictures taken in a custom, mafia-themed photobooth. o Held raffles and giveaways. o Brought computers to play Mafia Wars live with each other. o Brainstormed what the next Mafia Wars city should be.
HOW TO PLAY ZYNGO: Each player receives 1 Zyngo card. They then need to get another person matching the description in one of the boxes sign that box. Each person can sign only 1 box on each Zyngo card. The first player to get all of their boxes signed wins!
