Download These Reports in PDF Format 2011 2010 was a rocky year in the social network space and many sites closed their doors including Propeller.com, and Team Sugar, to name a few. Quite a few others continued their decline into yesterday’s news as we see more social network users consolidating their social profiles. Undoubtedly, Facebook’s continued growth worldwide has led to this as it becomes the de facto source for social networking. We added coverage of the following international social networks this year: Douban.com Imvu.com Kaixin001.com Mixi.jp NK.pl Odnoklassniki.ru QQ.com Renren.com Sonico.com Tagged.com Taringa.net Tumblr.com Vkontakte.ru Wer-kennt-wen.de Weibo.com Download These Reports in PDF Format 2008 Version - 2009 Version - 2010 Version 2011 Social Network Analysis Methodology: This year we will be reporting data a little differently, as last year we noticed a trend, specifically Google Insights for search seeing a large drop in ‘sitename.com’ domain search traffic. No real clues ever surfaced to why this occurred, therefore we are looking at searches for strictly ‘name’ to correlate demographic and geographic data. This should give us a larger sampling of data, as users are much more likely to search for a site’s name then ‘name.com.’ However, with that said, certain networks such as Tribe.net still needed to utilize the ‘name.com’ variation, since people looking for ‘tribe’ could be looking for a myriad of things, thus corrupting the data set. All data continues to come from Google because they have one of the largest data sets on the web. We continued to use their Google Ad Planner and Google Insight for Search product to pull demographic and geographic data. The Top Cities and Top Region reports show proportionate interest levels to the area based on the given search query. Ignite Social Media The Demographic and Geographic reports have Y axis numbers that are percentages out of 100, therefore if the score is .52 then its 52% of the population. The Search Traffic reports are based on proportionate search traffic for the given query. It’s on a scale of 100. Therefore if a given month shows the chart near 100 then that is the busiest month for query searches ever reported in Google during that given time frame. 2011 Social Network Data Sourcing Explanation: Google Adplanner Data Accuracy Explanation: http://www.google.com/support/adplanner/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=96385 How The Data is generated via Adplanner: http://www.google.com/support/adplanner/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=98132 How The Data is generated via Insights for Search: http://www.google.com/support/insights/bin/topic.py?hl=en&topic=13975 Citing These Sources If you would like to re-use any of our images or source any of our content in this analysis you are free to republish it given you link back to this webpage. UCLA UCLA Electronic Theses and Dissertations Title Doing the Time Warp: Queer Temporalities and Musical Theater Permalink https://escholarship.org/uc/item/1k1860wx Author Ellis, Sarah Taylor Publication Date 2013 Peer reviewed|Thesis/dissertation eScholarship.org Powered by the California Digital Library University of California UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA Los Angeles Doing the Time Warp: Queer Temporalities and Musical Theater A dissertation submitted in partial satisfaction of the requirements for the degree Doctor of Philosophy in Theater and Performance Studies by Sarah Taylor Ellis 2013 ABSTRACT OF THE DISSERTATION Doing the Time Warp: Queer Temporalities and Musical Theater by Sarah Taylor Ellis Doctor of Philosophy in Theater and Performance Studies University of California, Los Angeles, 2013 Professor Sue-Ellen Case, Co-chair Professor Raymond Knapp, Co-chair This dissertation explores queer processes of identification with the genre of musical theater. I examine how song and dance – sites of aesthetic difference within the musical – can warp time and enable marginalized and semi-marginalized fans to imagine different ways of being in the world. Musical numbers can complicate a linear, developmental plot by accelerating and decelerating time, foregrounding repetition and circularity, bringing the past to life and projecting into the future, and physicalizing dreams in a narratively open present. These excesses have the potential to contest naturalized constructions of historical, progressive time, as well as concordant constructions of gender, sexual, and racial identities. While the musical has historically been a rich source of identification for the stereotypical white gay male show queen, this project validates a broad and flexible range of non-normative readings.

  • Match Group Stock Pitch
Match Group Stock Pitch Analyst: James Campion First Things First Who in this room has used Tinder, Hinge, or another dating app? 2 Disclaimer I made these slides in 48 hours and took a lot of screenshots. You are allowed to take screenshots and make non-aesthetically pleasing slides for Investment Club (content matters more), but for SIBC and your full-time job do not do this! Thesis: 1. The Match Group currently holds a monopoly on the online- dating market, which is benefitting from changing social standards and increased connectivity 2. The Match Group has developed a diverse portfolio of brands, both through organic and inorganic methods, which enables them to serve customers of different ages and demographics 3. The Company’s combination of operating leverage and scale have led to expanding margins, driving a cash flow machine that should return cash to shareholders after the IAC spin-off 4. Valuation has gotten “frothy” but I still there is value as a long- term shareholder 4 Industry Focus Why online dating? More Couples Are Swiping Right ▸ In 2018, seven of the 53 couples profiled in the Vows column met on dating apps. ▸ And in the Times’ more populous Wedding Announcements section, 93 out of some 1,000 couples profiled this year met on dating apps ▸ The year before, 71 couples whose weddings were announced by the Times met on dating apps. Thanks to former NDIC President & VP, Dan McMurtie & Alex Draime for their report on the 6 dating market! Why Would Anyone Date Online?! ▸ Just a crazy thought, but what if in 10 years we think it is crazy that anyone met in person ▸ There are almost 8 billion people in the world, and we each get to meet about ~10,000 – And you’re telling me that you found your soulmate?! ▸ In the future, it might make more sense for machine learning trained algorithms to pair couples based on a number of different factors – There are just so many things it takes so long to tell someone about yourself (i.e.

Facebook Dating Application A Business Plan by Koen Heine, Alex Paninder & Fai Nopsuwanwong Idea: A Facebook dating application that will revolutionize the way people meet and date on the Internet. By choosing a superior business model, our company will outperform our competitors and change the faith of single people forever. This business plan is confidential. We read the news, discover new music, watch video clips and communicate with social contacts. Meeting a romantic partner is a logical extension of the technology. This is where dating websites come in. However, research has shown that while people spend a lot of time on these websites, they are dissatisfied with the payoff. Despite the problems with current online dating solutions, the industry is estimated to be worth about $3-4 billion a year. The business model of choice for existing websites can be separated in monthly subscriptions and free dating sites that make money through advertising. According to competitive research by OkCupid, men are usually the contact initiator. On the paid dating website eHarmony, a man can expect a reply only 30% of the time, mainly because the receiving woman is not a paying member and is unable to reply. Scholarly research on a major American dating websites finds that women reply only 15.9% of the time.

  • Podcast Script – Why Create a Social Network and Why Use of Ning
Podcast script – Why Create a Social Network and Why Use of Ning This short podcast will provide an overview of why we decided to create a social network and why we decided to use ning. I have long used social forums and tools for interacting with people ever since I engaged with the internet at University. This started off by using simple newsgroups to meet likeminded people interested in similar things to me. As the internet grew and got more sophisticated I started to use bulletin boards as the use of things like newsgroups declined. Whilst pregnant I found an online community which enabled me to manage a significant life transition (becoming a mother) very effectively. I found a supportive community who were able to answer any questions I had, allowed me to develop friendships and supported me. I wanted to somehow replicate this amazing support network for new students when they arrived at University and offer them the same opportunities to see that everyone else was feeling the same as them, that no one had all the answers and that they could make friends easily. Our first attempts to establish an online community were relatively limited. In 2007 we installed Moodle and created a series of discussion forums for students to post queries and for other students and staff to support them. Students were able to self register on the Moodle site. However in order to see what posts had been made they needed to be logged in with an account. Even though this activity was fairly straightforward it appeared to have put a lot of people off and the engagement with the discussion forums was limited.

  • Ning Podcast Hello and Welcome to Teaching Online
Podcast: On Ning Podcast Hello and welcome to Teaching Online. In this cast I will discuss Nings and how you can use this social network for educational purposes. But before I begin let me tell Three: you a little bit about social networking! Ning A social network is a community of people who share interest or activities or who are interested in meeting others that share these interest or activities. So let’s take this to the Internet and you can create a virtual network of people who communicate via a website. Some of the most common or popular sites are My Space, FaceBook and Twitter. So how does a Ning play into this mix? 1) What is it? A Ning is an online website where anyone can create their own social network. What makes a Ning different from those popular social networks, like FaceBook, is that anyone can create their own social network for a particular topic or need and they can cater to a specific membership base. An example would be an instructor setting up a Ning just for their class to discuss the subject they are studying. With a Ning, you can determine the site’s appearance and functionality, as well as whether the site is public or private. Nings can include features such as photos or videos, lists of network members and events, groups within the network, and communication tools such as forums or blogs. Best part of the Ning, it is free and easy to set up and navigate. No technical skill is required to set up a social network.
