There is an absence of literature regarding how a role influences an actor’s life before, during, and after film production. This study examined how acting roles might influence an actor during times on set shooting a movie or television series as well as their personal life after the filming is finished. Additionally the study considered the psychological impact of embodying a role, and whether or not an actor ever has the feeling that the performed character has independent agency over the actor. -

CD Review: Tangerine Dream ~ Paradiso
CD Review: Tangerine Dream ~ Paradiso http://www.vintagerock.com/classiceye/td_paradiso.aspx Home About Us Forum Listening Room Giveaways Links Contact Us Paradiso Tangerine Dream How could any red-blooded American male forget those delicious scenes of Tom Cruise atop a writhing Rebecca De Mornay in the movie Risky Business (remember the ‘choo choo’ train scene?). Behind all that carnal mayhem pulsed the intricate ethereal soundtrack provided by seminal “krautrock” band Tangerine Dream. Twenty years later, with countless albums under their belts, Tangerine Dream has released Paradiso, based on the third part of Dante Alighieri’s “La Divina Commedia” (Dante’s “Devine Comedy” for us layman). The creator and only original member through every incarnation of Tangerine Dream, Edgar Froese teamed up with fellow West Berlin underground ‘arty’ types in the late 1960’s. Forming TD after studying under Salvador Dali, of all people, Froese and company were one of the first purveyors of what has been termed “krautrock.” Froese welcomed various members into the ‘Dream’ fold over the years, most notably, Christopher Franke and Peter Baumann and most TD listeners — even those of us with only a passing knowledge of the band — recognize their pulsating synths. Tangerine Dream actually gained a solid reputation through their soundtracks for movies like Legend, The Keep and Risky Business, and continue to tour (as members come and go) with multimedia live performances. As testament to Froese, it is said he welcomes new members as writing contributors and not just players (as he did with Franke and Baumann). On the double CD Paradiso, however, Froese composed and produced all of the music. -

WAGNER ON CONDUCTING PDF, EPUB, EBOOK Richard Wagner,Edward Dannreuther | 118 pages | 01 Mar 1989 | Dover Publications Inc. | 9780486259321 | English | New York, United States Richard Wagner | Biography, Compositions, Operas, & Facts | Britannica Impulsive and self-willed, he was a negligent scholar at the Kreuzschule, Dresden , and the Nicholaischule, Leipzig. He frequented concerts, however, taught himself the piano and composition , and read the plays of Shakespeare, Goethe, and Schiller. Wagner, attracted by the glamour of student life, enrolled at Leipzig University , but as an adjunct with inferior privileges, since he had not completed his preparatory schooling. Although he lived wildly, he applied himself earnestly to composition. Because of his impatience with all academic techniques, he spent a mere six months acquiring a groundwork with Theodor Weinlig, cantor of the Thomasschule; but his real schooling was a close personal study of the scores of the masters, notably the quartets and symphonies of Beethoven. He failed to get the opera produced at Leipzig and became conductor to a provincial theatrical troupe from Magdeburg , having fallen in love with one of the actresses of the troupe, Wilhelmine Minna Planer, whom he married in In , fleeing from his creditors, he decided to put into operation his long-cherished plan to win renown in Paris, but his three years in Paris were calamitous. Living with a colony of poor German artists, he staved off starvation by means of musical journalism and hackwork. In , aged 29, he gladly returned to Dresden, where Rienzi was triumphantly performed on October The next year The Flying Dutchman produced at Dresden, January 2, was less successful, since the audience expected a work in the French-Italian tradition similar to Rienzi and was puzzled by the innovative way the new opera integrated the music with the dramatic content. -

Zoomagazine Interview 2
Klaus Schulze

While the music on this disc feels more arranged and composed than the group's live concert albums, RMI's freewheeling style is ever present. The pieces unfold, expand and recede as if in a rehearsed jam session rather than a clinical/critical studio project. The keystone supporting this music is Duncan Goddard's sequencer patterns. Multiple sets of cycling synthesizer tones dance, skip and echo through minor key scales, running full-tilt like a runaway train. …Disc 2: “Ancillary Blooms”…is a live album… two one hour sets were edited down so as to fit on this CD, and flow along a subtle spatial arc suitable for late-night listening. Within this setting the sonic inventions are more discovered than composed as the trio tends to explore areas of texture and mood. The ensuing musical themes grew out of an improvisational interaction that could not have been planned, nor repeated. When it comes to playing music under these conditions, RMI call on their instincts. …they produce complex atmospheric realizations. -
