aving already beaten the side from Park Lane twice in their triumphant HLondon Two South West league winning campaign, Guildford were always going to be favourites for the final against Old Reigatians and they certainly lived up to that tag, a points laden opening half setting them up for a 43-5 triumph.

A brace from the rampaging Stuart Fee, along with efforts from Matt Stockdale – his first in Guildford colours – Mark Watkinson, Bertie Hopkin and Matt Shea ended the contest long before a beleaguered Reiga- tians unit finally found their feet midway through the second period. Mark Watkinson’s try, from a clinical catch-and-drive that would not have looked out of place had the host club executed such a move at Level Three in the pyramid, killed off any aspirations Jonny Hylton and his Reigatians coaching staff might have entertained of a comeback, before two late scores in the half most certainly did.

Hopkin, recently named in the England Counties U20s side and destined for grander stages, made Ant Comyn pay for not dealing with a dink ahead from Matt Shea, gobbling up the loose ball to compound the Reigatians full-back’s embarrassment.
